Iraq is unable to treat the huge numbers of people wounded in Mosul
GOGJALI, Iraq — More than a dozen times a day, the doctor and his skeleton staff at a makeshift trauma center near Mosul repeat a ritual: identify a wound, try to stabilize it, wait for an ambulance and hope the patient survives the journey to a better-equipped facility up to a two-hour drive away.
Most of the patients were shot by Islamic State snipers or injured when mortar shells hit their homes, and not all of them will make it.
The stopgap medical center is part of a network that Iraqi and international health workers are racing to establish, staff and supply to cope with a tidal wave of critical injuries.

At least 14 US-led coalition military advisers have been captured by the Syrian Special Forces in a bunker in the city of Aleppo, according to media reports.
The event allegedly took place in the morning on December 16, 2016 (Voltaire.net):
“The Security Council is sitting in private on Friday, December 16, 2016, at 17:00 GMT, while NATO officers were arrested this morning by the Syrian Special Forces in a bunker in East Aleppo.”
21stcenturywire.com also provided a list of names of the coalition’s military advisers captured in Aleppo, citing a Syrian member of Parliament:
Fares Shehabi, a prominent Syrian Parliamentarian and head of Aleppo’s Chamber of Commerce published the names of the Coalition officers on his Facebook page on the 15th December (emphasis added):
Mutaz Kanoglu – Turkey
David Scott Winer – USA
David Shlomo Aram – Israel
Muhamad Tamimi – Qatar
Muhamad Ahmad Assabian – Saudi
Abd-el-Menham Fahd al Harij – Saudi
Islam Salam Ezzahran Al Hajlan – Saudi
Ahmed Ben Naoufel Al Darij – Saudi
Muhamad Hassan Al Sabihi – Saudi
Hamad Fahad Al Dousri – Saudi
Amjad Qassem Al Tiraoui – Jordan
Qassem Saad Al Shamry – Saudi
Ayman Qassem Al Thahalbi – Saudi
Mohamed Ech-Chafihi El Idrissi – Moroccan
Damascus-based Syrian journalist Said Hilal Alcharifi also reported on the issue in his Facebook account:
Very urgent
The Syrian authorities were able, thanks to information thorough, arrive at the headquarters of senior officers and western regional in the basement of a district of Aleppo-is, and capture them all alive.
A few names have already been ex filtered to Syrian journalists including me.
Seen the nationalities (us, French, British, German, Israelis, Turks, Saudis, Moroccans, Qatari, etc.. etc) of these scumbags and their military ranks, I assure you
Syria holds in this moment a big treasures to carry out the negotiations with the countries that have destroyed.
Earlier in December, SF already noted that the US despearate attempts to push a “diplomatic solution” in Aleppo could indicate that the Obama administration stalling for time to extricate US mercenaries and special service members from the Aleppo pocket:
US officers in Aleppo pocket.
Considering that US-led coalition military advisers have been widely operating across Syria, training and assisting to the so-called “moderate opposition” openly linked with al-Qaeda, the recently appeared reports are likely true.
For isntance, British military advisers have officially arrived to Syria to restore combat capability of the ‘moderate’ opposition, retreated from Aleppo:
British military advisers have arrived to Syria in order to restore combat capability of units of the ‘moderate’ opposition, retreated from Aleppo, the Izvestiya newspaper reported, citing a statement of UK Defense Minister Michael Fallon. According to Fallon, 20 British military instructors, who will train the opposition forces, involved in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, have already arrived at the destination.
The dispatch of British advisers was announced in October, long before the recapture of Aleppo by the Syrian government forces. Initially, they had a task to train recruits to conduct combined arms combat, as well as to teach them the basics of tactical medicine and combat engineering. However, the situation changed and the task was changed too.

The Syrian army is calling on the last remaining rebels to leave eastern districts of Aleppo, as the evacuation of their besieged enclave continues.
The Red Cross says 25,000 people have been evacuated since a ceasefire deal halted the army's offensive a week ago.
It is not known exactly how many are still waiting to leave eastern Aleppo, but the UN special envoy to Syria estimated on Thursday that about 40,000 civilians and 10,000 rebels were there.
A spokeswoman for the International Committee of the Red Cross, Ingy Sedky, told AFP that "thousands" of people were still waiting to be bussed out.
Fifteen thousand were evacuated on Monday, she said, bringing the total to 25,000.

At least 3,000 people have been evacuated from the last rebel-held district of Aleppo following a Russia- and Turkey-brokered deal between the Syrian government and opposition. An additional 260 people were evacuated from two villages besieged by rebels.
Around 20 buses initially arrived in eastern Aleppo early Monday, Dr. Ahmad Dbis, who heads a team of doctors and volunteers coordinating evacuations, told AFP, adding that another 25 vehicles arrived less than two hours later.
Meanwhile, a United Nations official told Reuters that 50 buses and two ambulances arrived to evacuate civilians, while aid workers put the number at more than 60 buses.
Some evacuees are being taken in by relatives and residents, while others are being housed in tents, according to aid workers.
An official from a refugee camp which is accepting those evacuating al-Foua and Kafraya told RT that he expects 1,000 people from the villages to arrive at the camp on Monday.
Several people at the camp spoke to RT about the dire conditions they left behind, citing a lack of food and medical supplies, as well as dirty water and no phone communications. They also spoke of constant shelling by opposition forces.

The UN remains resolved to observe.

"The task is to monitor and observe the evacuations," Jens Laerke told a news briefing in Geneva.
The UN Security Council called unanimously Monday for UN officials and others to observe the evacuation of people from the last rebel-held enclave in Aleppo and monitor the safety of civilians who remain in the Syrian city.
The UN refugee agency UNHCR said there was no sign of a heavy influx of people fleeing Aleppo into neighbouring Turkey.

Of course there's fake news about Syria.
Egyptian Police Arrests Photographer for Making Staged Pics of ‘Wounded Children from Aleppo’
A man, who was taking staged photos of ‘wounded children from Aleppo’, has been arrested by Egyptian police in the Egyptian province of Port Said.
Egyptian police arrested a man for a shooting staged shots with the participation of children, which were positioned as photos of destructions and wounded civilians in the Syrian city of Aleppo, the RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing a statement of the Egyptian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The photographs were spread via social networks.
As the Egyptian Interior Ministry reported on its official Facebook page, the shooting team, which included assistants of the photographer and parents of the young actors, was detained in the province of Port Said.
Egyptian police became a witness of a shooting process, which took place on ruins of an illegal building, demolished by a decision of the authorities. The attention of policemen, accidentally driving by the place, was attracted by a minor girl, dressed in a bloodstained white dress, who kept a white teddy bear in her hands. The plush toy also was besmirched with red spots. As the policemen immediately ascertained, the ‘blood’ turned out to be an ordinary paint.
After a short discussion and viewing of the work of the team, the photographer told police that he was going to publish these photos on social networks, setting them up as footage from Aleppo.
The photographer was detained by police for four days for investigation of the incident. The rest of the participants of the shooting were released on bail.

Your article says the photographer told the police that he was faking the photos for social media - omg how convenient! Sorry, your story sounds fake.

Hope your jello was good today.
After reiterating assertion after assertion in post after post - never with evidence, mind you - the personal insult is required. It indicates to everyone that they will be ostracized and socially punished for failing to conform to the official story.
And that's how propaganda happens.

Aleppo evacuations resume after hold-up, UN
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which is running the operation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), confirmed that the evacuation had resumed. Weather conditions were "harsh" and people "exhausted", it said earlier in a tweet.

Russian and Syrian television channels showed people who had crossed into government territory cheering and thanking the government and complaining of bad treatment by rebels inside.
United Nations officials also said that indiscriminate shelling of western Aleppo (by al-Nusra and ISIS) had continued killing and injuring civilians, destroying civilian infrastructure, and had forced about 20,000 people from their homes.

Russia says two of its medics killed in Aleppo hospital attack
The Russian Defence Ministry said on Monday Syrian rebels had deliberately shelled a Russian military field hospital in Aleppo, killing two female medics and injuring one other.
Major-General Igor Konashenkov said rebels had directed artillery fire at the mobile field hospital after it began receiving civilians and had scored a direct hit on its reception.
"Without doubt the shelling was carried out by 'opposition' rebels," Konashenkov said in a statement. "We know who the rebels got the exact information and coordinates about the hospital reception from."
Konashenkov said the United States, Britain and France bore responsibility for the attack on the hospital, which was located in a government-held district of embattled Aleppo, because they were supporting the rebels. "The blood of our personnel is on the hands of those who ordered this murder, those who created, nurtured and armed these animals in human guise."
He said the attack would be investigated and called on international aid organisations to condemn it.

Russian De-mining Teams, Mobile Hospital on Way to Aleppo
Dec. 1, 2016 (EIRNS)—The Russian Defense Ministry announced, yesterday, that a Russian de-mining team is on its way to Syria to help clear the newly freed districts of Aleppo from mines and booby traps left behind by the jihadis.
"Today, an advanced detachment from the international anti-mine center of the Russian Armed Forces is leaving to defuse unexploded ordnance in Aleppo," Lt. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi, the Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff, said during a briefing yesterday. "Overall, more than 200 servicemen and 47 units of combat and special equipment will be involved in the de-mining activities in Aleppo." TASS, in reporting Rudksoi’s announcement, recalls that after the liberation of Palmyra from ISIS, last March, Russian de-mining teams defused 17,500 explosive devices in a period of 45 days, clearing 2,500 buildings in the process.
At the same time, the Defense Ministry also announced that cargo aircraft loaded with medical equipment and personnel left Russia for Syria to provide medical assistance to civilians in Aleppo, in accordance with the order issued by Russian President Vladimir Putin the day before.
"The personnel of the Russian Defense Ministry’s special medical unit, a field hospital, special gear, and medical equipment have left for Syria by plane," the Defense Ministry said. "Upon arrival Russian military medics will start providing medical assistance to civilians and refugees near Aleppo."

These are some of the things Powell said about Flynn:
Quote:
“I spoke at DIA last month,” Powell wrote in a July 19 email exchange with his son. “Flynn got fired as head of DIA. His replacement is a black Marine 3-star. I asked why Flynn got fired. Abusive with staff, didn’t listen, worked against policy, bad management, etc. He has been and was right-wing nutty every [sic] since. I watched about five minutes on line of his talked [sic] and switched off.” While Powell admitted in an Aug. 10 email to a Washington Post reporter that he never “knew or served with Flynn,” he still sounded off on the Trump adviser. “Talking to people in the know, his real problem was leadership and management issues at DIA. Senior staff was in incipient revolt,” Powell wrote. “He has been over the top in his comments, conduct unbecoming. But he is unchained.”
Quote:WHAT SPECIFICALLY in Powell's experience gives him SPECIFIC knowledge of Flynn? After all, that's what we're talking about. Powell made very SPECIFIC comments about Flynn. So, to repeat - WHAT SPECIFICALLY in Powell's experience gives him SPECIFIC knowledge of Flynn? Or, is he just making things up or repeating gossip?
How is Powell's experience not evidentiary? Do you have more experience with the military than Powell? Does your background afford you a better pov to judge Flynn by? What? I can't hear you.
