I think the first thing I saw Adam in was the X Files and Independence Day.

I did see Full Metal Jacket (1987) but it was so fake and surreal that none of the roles really made an impression, other than R. Lee Ermy, an actual Marine. It was so divorced from the Marine Corps Boot Camp that I knew that suspension of disbelief was about impossible.
