Ron Glass, a prolific TV actor known for playing Ron Harris in the sitcom “Barney Miller” and Shepherd Derrial Book in “Firefly,” has died. He was 71.

The only thing I want to say right now would be a long string of profanity, but I'll spare y'all that. I know all years have tragedies and deaths, but I am so over being beaten up by 2016. Haven't we mourned enough?

I was lucky to have met him twice. Kind, gracious man. I was always going to treasure the three autographed items I have, but now they have a much different significance. He will be missed.

I was lucky enough to meet him at a few conventions and he was everything you'd want him to be. Warm, charming, classy - when you got a picture taken with him, he'd shake your hand while looking you in the eye and say hello. We were lucky to have him, so sad we have to say goodbye.
