And yet, you have a problem with a politician .. Russian, American, or anyone ... who wants peace. What's going on here, where the American wants war?

I think it's time you disabused yourself of that pleasant little fairy tale about our fearless leaders being some sort of surrogate daddy or mommy, laying awake at night thinking about how to protect the kids. HA! In reality, they're thinking about who to sell them to so that they can get a few more shekels in their pockets.

Just to make this pellucidly clear

By his own post, THUGR certainly brings up the question WHO is the aggressor? Russia or America?"

Again, by his own post it looks like THUGR is the aggressor and Russia is the peace-loving nation.

Just as an aside, the reason why I name THGRRI "THUGR" is because.... aside from the fact that his chosen nom de plume is such an unmemorable jumble of letters it looks like he fell asleep on the keyboard ... "THUGR" acts like a thug. All he knows how to do is attack, attack, attack, in the dumbest way possible.

Thought, and rational discussion, seem to be out of his repertoire.

I have not supported any wars here.

And yet, you posted a picture of someone who wants peace as a criticism of us. You're trying to make the point that wanting peace is so heinous, only pro-Russian trolls could possibly want peace.

And you don't want peace. So you want war. That's your argument.

Let me just point out that the author left out vital relevant facts in the opinion piece. Doing that is known as cherry-picking. And whether you do that in the news, in discussion, in debate or in opinion, when you distort the facts, you've changed the nature of your communication into propaganda. But WE don't have any of THAT in the US, do we?!

THUGR, I desperately hoped you learned something from this encounter.

Believe it or not, I'm not trying to humiliate you online or drive you from Fireflyfans. This site is a great resource. Just chalk up my aggressive reaction to frustration and exasperation. Assume it's my fault, not yours.

What you are reacting to, IMHO, is FEAR.

Fear of Russia, I think.

But, what is the source of your fear?

I've tried to get you to express WHAT you're afraid of ... where you feel threatened, or where you feel we are threatened by Russia http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=60755

Unlike the fear that some of our posters felt after 9-11 ... which was a truly traumatic event unanticipated by many and which left some of our family with PTSD ... I believe that fear of Russia is (almost) entirely synthetic. Because when people who are vehemently aggressive about Russia but can't even express WHY they're afraid, then all I can imagine is that the fear is conditioned.

So I invite you to imagine the worst. Give form to your fears, and write them down. In detail. Every day.

When you feel that you have honed your fears to their essence, let us know.

Or not. Clearly, it's up to you what you express on the board.

Yeah no. I was merely pointing out that the Russian politician’s preference was Trump. And, that you are pushing the same agenda as hers in the same way. You have unleashed a frenzy of anti-Hilary posts touting the same reason. That Hilary will start a war with Russia. It is just one more post pointing to your Russian sympathies.

Yeah no. What I do is provide real time reasoning behind what you and 1kiki are doing in these threads and why. You are not going to change my response’s to suit your agenda comrade. Too me it’s not what you are saying but why. That is the subject that most needs discussing.

It doesn't surprise me that you are distracted by the pretty picture so the message is lost to you. Ask someone to explain it to you.

And of course to you anyone saying anything negative about Russia does so void of logic and facts. To you it is said out of fear. Nice try comrade. Again a deflection cast by you in support of Russia.

Every time comrade you respond to my posts you dig a bigger and bigger hole for yourself. A hole full of supporting evidence that you are a Russian troll and sympathizer.

Of that you are doing a tremendous job. Keep up the good work.

Great article G. And Putin has taken several lesson's out of Hitler's play book. Their affinity for propaganda and Hitler's reason for invading Poland. The reason Hitler gave was that the Poles were persecuting those Germans who lived in Poland.

Putin has taken this approach as a way to invade Georgia and the Ukraine.

War and terrorism have become increasingly routine facts of life in America. Since 2001, this reality has become an essential tool for stimulating popular support for American Presidents. The mechanics of how this support is cultivated and mobilized are now fundamental to Washington's day-to-day agenda. At the same time, Washington's new (and sometimes novel) approach to warfare, which runs through the conflicts in Georgia, Crimea, the Donbas region of southeastern Ukraine, Syria, and now Turkey, have become central to the future development of American domestic and foreign policy....
Fixed it for you.

Everything that has been written about Russia's so-called evils is magnified 10X by the USA.

Again, bashing America while defending Russia. You're too dimwitted to understand that I am not posting to bash Russia. I keep telling you I am posting to expose you as a Russian Troll. lol, and you just can't help yourself.

I see you once again provide evidence of your deceptive posting. I recognize in what you quote, cut and pasted information from SECOND (from another thread )and others to craft a false perception of the facts. It was posted in fact, Russia is the one who relies on war to garner support for its leaders. It's very sad SIG. You need to find a new line of work. This one surely doesn't suite you.

Russia Feature: Social Media and the Weapon of Disinformation

With a vigorous national debate underway on whether Sweden should enter a military partnership with NATO, officials in Stockholm suddenly encountered an unsettling problem: a flood of distorted and outright false information on social media, confusing public perceptions of the issue.

The claims were alarming: If Sweden, a non-NATO member, signed the deal, the alliance would stockpile secret nuclear weapons on Swedish soil; NATO could attack Russia from Sweden without government approval; NATO soldiers, immune from prosecution, could rape Swedish women without fear of criminal charges.

They were all false, but the disinformation had begun spilling into the traditional news media, and as the defense minister, Peter Hultqvist, traveled the country to promote the pact in speeches and town hall meetings, he was repeatedly grilled about the bogus stories.
