The greatest expert Tracker Mal and Zoe have ever seen, all around good fighter, excellent shot, owner of Vera, master of thrillin' heroics - not to mention Hero of Canton, and occupier of his very own bunk, not forced to share.

Played by Adam Baldwin, considered by many to be the veteran of film in this series.

It would be nice to identify an incident of Series and also DBM Serenity.

When I conjure Jayne's interaction with the crew, what comes to mind is "let me do the math: zero and zero, carry the zero..." from Pilot Serenity, as well as "Saw that coming". But a key reflection of the character is his pleading to Mal "Don't let them know what I done" in Ariel. But my favorite scene for Jayne is also revealing of his character, and how he wants to hide this from the others: in Pilot Serenity, while Kaylee is being worked on in the Infirmary, he crouches alone, outside the portal window, intently watching the happenings inside.

For the film Serenity, one that really comes to mind is he got a harpoon through his calf during the escape from the Lilac heist, and nobody mentions it again for the duration. During Lilac, he yells out "MAAAAAAL" so Mal complains about every time they do a heist, he needs to call out my name for all to hear.

What are your favorites?

No contest - the scene in "Jaynestown" when the crew discover that folks in Canton might, they just might remember Jayne Cobb...

MAL: Jayne?

JAYNE (stunned beyond words): Yeah?

MAL: You want to tell me how come there's a statue of you here looking at me like I owe him something?

JAYNE: Wishing I could, Captain.

MAL: No, seriously, Jayne, you want to tell me -?

JAYNE: Look, Mal, I got no ruttin' idea! I was here a few years back, like I said. Pulled a second-story, stole a lot of scratch from the magistrate up on the hill. But things went way south...I had to hightail it. They don't...put you on a pedestal in town square for that.

MAL: Yeah, except I'm looking at some fair compelling evidence says they do.

SIMON: This must be what going mad feels like.

WASH: I think they captured him, though - you know...captured his essence.

KAYLEE: Looks sort of angry, don't he?

WASH: That's kinda what I meant.

And then the song (which I sang at Redemption '15 after several bottles of my equivalent of Mudder's Milk)...oh, that song!

Priceless!

"Let's be bad guys" How do you top that!

Somehow I forgot to mention, also during Ariel, and not reflecting in any way part of his character, "We applied the cortical electrodes..."

That may be his funniest line in the whole series.

Jayne's eagerness to "do good works" in Bushwhacked.

And "I was aiming for his head" in The Train Job.

Did he just go crazy and then fall asleep?

The chain of command. That was the line that hooked me to the series.

I loved how that after Jayne collapsed, no one actually checked on him, they just continued the conversation over his unconscious body.

"That's why I never kiss them on the mouth."

"My John Thomas is about to pop off and fly around the room there's so much tasty here." I actually used this one in real life. 'Course the reaction I got to it was "What the F### did you just say?"

It's almost a contest, who has the best lines Wash or Jayne?
