Although the fourth episode, following Bushwhacked, this episode was not aired until 1 November, after 3 later episodes were aired - making it the 6th aired episode.
Written by Jane Espenson, who has done well since then.
This is also serving as the alternate introduction of Badger, although it was filmed in the beginning of August 2002, so nobody knew that Pilot Serenity would not have been aired before this episode. Otherwise, this would have been the first call-back performance of guest performers, being Badger's second episode.

I think my favorite scene was River speaking at Badger. Or maybe "That there? Xactly the type of diversion we coulda used," which followed.

What are your favorites?

The scene where the gentleman puts Banning in her place after insulting Kaylee. Love Kaylee's smile.

Yep, that was Larry Pennell, who passed in 2013. Something to the effect of a dozen handmaidens to get her into that dress, and only a schoolboy's wink to get her out of it. Implying she is a slut at a ball where RC's abound.

My favourite scene was... the whole gorram episode!

Seriously, it was all good; Jane Espenson wrote a masterpiece, played brilliantly by all the cast and guest stars. Classic humour throughout:

"Use of a s-what?"

"Yes, sir, Cap'n Tightpants!"

"I could get naked..."

"Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good."

"You want a slinky dress? I can buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have money for a slinky dress?"

"This is embarrassing. Some of you seem to be misapprehending my purpose in being here."

And so on...!

I can admit that whenever I see the scene of the sword duel, I am reminded of the same in Highlander.

When Mal defeats Atherton, he says "Mercy is the mark of a great man." *stab* "Guess I'm just a good man." *stab* "Well, I'm all right."

LOL!

Do you make each of those captions, or are they already done elsewhere?
Do you have an index page of most of them on your photobucket account?

I just make them on the fly. I use Photoshop Elements 6. If I spent a bit more time on them they'd probably look better....
