2nd - I thought this was about Trump. Am I mistaken?

Let me just point out that the author left out vital relevant facts in the opinion piece. Doing that is known as cherry-picking. And whether you do that in the news, in discussion, in debate or in opinion, when you distort the facts, you've changed the nature of your communication into propaganda. But WE don't have any of THAT in the US, do we?!

So you don't have to read the paper, I'll summarize: The wealthy top 1% have strongly turned against redistribution. Congress follows the 1% because the bottom 50% can't be bothered to vote or read the paper “Why Hasn’t Democracy Slowed Rising Inequality?”.

I will repeat that: Since the bottom 50% won’t vote, the top 1% will have their way in the USA. Trump, Bernie and Hillary will not be running a get out the vote for the bottom 50%.

That the bottom 50% need to help each other and even vote for the advantage of each other seems so very unAmerican to the bottom 50%. The top 1% can take advantage of this lack of cooperation at the bottom. Trump, Bernie and Hillary are not going to fix that.

That applies to Obama, to Hillary, and the 'democratic' party. And their failure to do that is the reason why they have lost American hearts and minds and, oh let's not forget, congress and the governorships. 50% of voters USED to identify as 'd'. And they USED to come out and VOTE. Now it's down to 30%. And their vote is in question.

It's not a 'them' fault. They know how to support the democratic party. They've done it before. It's a 'democratic' party fault that walked away from its vision of fairness, opportunity, freedom and hope.

When was the last time the 'democrats' stood for something? And what is Hillary doing to bring people back into the 'd' fold? Courting republicans? Schmoozing with her fellow neocons?

Trump has succeeded in the land of the free-for-all, a place where narcissism is rewarded with undivided attention. Trump's former wife Ivana said Trump raped her in a sworn deposition. Given how central a role rape accusations have played in Trump's campaign — against Mexicans, political opponents, etc. it is clearly a highly germane question, as frankly it would be for any presidential candidate.

The details surrounding the alleged rape are bizarrely novelistic even by Trumpian standards. According to Ivana, Trump was driven to freakish rage by a failed anti-baldness surgery — a so-called 'scalp reduction'. But the actions are very clear cut. According to her deposition, Trump flew into a rage, attacked her, held her down and began pulling hair out of her head to mimic his pain and then forcibly penetrated her....This was a pretty concrete and specific [accusation]. And the author of the book that first surfaced the deposition said he'd found numerous friends of Ivana's who she had confided the incident to at the time.

Poor Ivana! She had to deal with this naked slob! Ugh. I see why she divorced him.
