It has just been reported that Fillion will star in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" as one of classic superheroes in Marvel universe. Some set photos taken outside Atlanta suggested that he's playing Simon Williams aka Wonder Man who gives up the superhero game for a career in Hollywood.
Also,the release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 got moved up a few months. Originally slated to hit theaters on July 28, 2017, the sequel is now set for May 5, 2017. Writer-director James Gunn is returning to the film.

That sounds like a role he could be really good at. I was wondering why Wonderman would be in Guardians instead of an Avengers movie, but suphero-turned-Hollywood totally makes sense for the wackiness that is Guardians.

I'd hold off on getting too excited. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the movie posters are all Nathan does for the movie. There's a good possibility that this is nothing more than an easter egg in the film. Especially considering that's exactly what his cameo was like in the first Guardians movie.

James seemed to give Nathan some free reign in Slither, I don't know why he didn't showcase Nathan more in GotG. Maybe he has more pull this time around.
As an aside, I had not seen Nathan posed with Rainn Wilson before. Fans of Galaxy Quest and Serenity rejoice!
