I'm doing well…lovely spring here in TN. What a marvelous name 'Stoke-on-Trent'!! What's been going on with you? I have retired from the newspaper so I'm now a full-time gardener/reader/caretaker of spoiled dogs and the owner of the loneliest chicken in the world. Husband is good…and with the exception of a flash flood about a month ago, we're all doing very well!

I am well, Sister!!
I am living in the same town which my Dad grew up in here in England, and am happily committed to a wonderful man from this neck of the woods! Being England I am not sure if we've had the best of the sunshine for the next 12 months! I'm working with children, but no longer a nanny... Poor chicken! I used to look after half a dozen or so on a farm in Kent and they definitely have personalities!
Everyone I know who's retired says they don't know how they had time to go to work, because they find themselves so busy!
Lovely to cross paths with you, again!

Have to return to the hospital today…got some kind of tick-borne disease that made my hands swell up like Capt. Kirk's in the first new Star Trek film! Didn't get 'numb tongue' though…

Back to the hospital…they think it's either Lyme's or Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick fever…interesting sensations…not something I'd recommend to anyone, though.
What use are ticks anyway?

Oh no, Sister! Neither of those possibilities sounds good... I came home from a trip to the USA walking my then BF's dogs in the woods a lot, and we removed the odd tick during that trip... turned out I had a form of pneumonia, not Lyme's disease, but I did my research when they were talking about it and it sounds pretty nasty! I hope, whatever it is, they get on top of it quickly and as painlessly as possible!
