You must mean Ian McDiarmid, Senator and Emperor Palpatine... yes?

Correct. Now I can sleep in peace...
And don't forget: By the end of the final episode (III), he'll be the absolute and unimpeachable despotic ruler of the Known Universe.
How bad does that suck? I can hardly wait to take the kids. I'm sure they'll want Emperor Palpatine figurines for Christmas...
With Admiration,
zoid

More evidence of Lucas crapping on the heads of his fans. What a tool! This is from imdb.com:

Lucasfilm has quashed a Seattle, WA screening of Star Wars by a local improvisational comedy group that redubs movies live. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Saturday that Lucasfilm sent the nonprofit Jet City Improv a cease-and-desist letter after learning on an Internet site about plans for the screening. The group said that it was the first time in seven years of performing such spoofs that it has received such a letter. "In order to protect our copyright, anyone who plans to commercially exhibit our films has to go through the appropriate channels," a Lucasfilm spokeswoman told the newspaper.

That's hard to believe considering satire is usually considered fair usage under copyright law.

They could re-enact it but they can't show the movie in the background.
Too bad, that sounds funny.

This just makes me even more grateful for guys like Joss Whedon and David Kemper. George Lucas, bleh.
Nebari mental cleansing doesn't get the tough stains out.

Does anybody intend to go see it in the theaters?
Rumours have it that there will be a farting Yoda, a Wookiee army, Anakin's eyes turning yellow, and (possibly) human sacrifice of all those cute Jedi kids in Episode 2.
Also, if you are a disillusioned ex-Star Wars fan, go here: www.chefelf.com/forums/index.php?showforum=4&prune_day=100&sort_by=Z-A
&sort_key=last_post&st=0. The "-- Reasons to Hate Star Wars Episodes One and Two" are hilarious, and 99.99% of the time, dead accurate. :( ...

Jar Jar becomes a Jedi

Those dorky idiot looking characters are in the next starwars movie

Don't be fooled by the official release of the Star Wars trilogy on DVD on September 21, 2004. Though it assumes the title of the original series, it is in fact the "special" edition, rereleased in all its Guido-shoots-back, CGI Jabba glory. And now, for even you special edition purists, Mr. Lucas is heading back to the vaults to digitally manipulate the faces of some of the actors so as to look more similar to the actors featured in the prequels. I can see how some people may find merit in this. But me, I just want the original versions, unadulterated, and put on DVD. If enough of us don't buy this "special" edition, maybe Mr. Lucas will get the message: you can do what you want with your own films, but please, at least give us a choice.
"the Star Wars Universe" has been nothing but a rotting, corporate, money-making corpse for over 20 twenty years. It's nothing but a "brand" now. The Ewoks killed off any true, mythic magic long ago. Since then, this is all just hype and toy-commercials. Lucas is a sell-out. He owns half of freakin' Hasbro, come on! He has become the Empire. He said it himself. Sad, but true.
The moment you started pandering to a target market, selling out your story, is the moment you blew it. Call Peter Jackson for some advice on filming a truly moving, mythic adventure, please.
By the way, Han shoots first. Period.

...The new Star Wars bonus DVD erases elements of your Xbox's firmware without informing you or giving you a chance to decline....aimed at punishing people who play the Star Wars DVD bonus disk in a modded Xbox.
Thank you, LucasArts. You've given me another good reason not to give you any more... although the fact that I don't like Star Wars much helps.
this new starwars film could sink fast
so long starwars

actually didn't the second one make less $ than the first?
and the cost of making each film is more and more...
of course they are still making a profit
(particularly w/the DVD sales)
however I'm not seeing the 3rd
I'm not putting another penny in Lucas' pocket

Y'know, I MET Lucas once. Went to this event I got into as a senior in high school - that would be in 1990, in case you're wondering :)
I sat down at a table with him, with a few other kids around. Got my nerve up - asked him my big question: "So, I've heard Star Wars was based on these movies by some guy named Kurosawa - is that true?" Mind you - I was 17. Had never seen said Kurosawa movies (I've seen one since), and LOVED Star Wars. Star Wars shaped my career choice, gorramit. So I was asking in a NICE way.
Lucas's one word response to a clueless little kid?
"No."
Sigh. I realized then he was a jerk, and he still is.
