A line from T:TSCC often pops in my head.
Sarah: "Better put those back in their holster" - to Cameron, which is topless.

And in case not already mentioned, John "I call shotgun" and Cameron "I call Nine Millimeter" when hopping into the truck.

Another from Terminator "If you want to live, come with me." Kyle Reese to Sarah Conner after he first sees her.

"If you want to live, come with me." Ahnold to Sarah Connor, Terminator 2, JD.
"If you want to live, come with me." Ahnold to Kate Brewster, T3.
"If you want to live, come with me." Cameron to John Connor, T:TSCC

As mentioned above, the line is, "Come with me if you want to live" and I am wondering if this is the line used by Cage on the beach to Rita in Edge of Tomorrow.

Forbidden Planet: (1956)
Commander John J. Adams: Nice climate you have here. High oxygen content.
Robby the Robot: I seldom use it myself, sir. It promotes rust.

See? Forbidden Planet was a great (classic) sci-fi film. But clever
dialogue was not on its list of attributes. Cause those were the days
of More Corn.

OK ... so what's old, before your time, but with fun lines?

The Time Machine (1960)
"My name is of no consequence. The important thing you should know,
is that I am the last who remembers how each of us, man and woman
made his own decision. Some chose to take refuge in the great caverns,
and find a new way of life far below the earth's surface. The rest of us
decided to take our chances in the sunlight. Small as those chances
might be."

Filby: Which three books would you have taken?

Soylent Green (1973)
Sol: Aw, nuts! People were always rotten. But the world was beautiful.

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981)

The Gyro Captain: They've got you wrong. You're not a coward.
STUPID, maybe. But not a coward.

The Gyro Captain: Lingerie. Oh, remember lingerie?

OK. This looks like a good, fun thread. So I decided to bump it.
Now I'm told, if the thread is too old, I'm Necroposting!

But if no one's making New fun threads in here, what choice do I have?

... oooOO}{OOooo ...

I've given up looking for the meaning of life.
Now all I want is a better game.

It's a good thread to bump. I read every post and thought most of them were quite worthy.

From 'Time After Time' -

H.G. Wells: Every age is the same. It's only love that makes any of them bearable.

Tallulah (that's three L's, one H): If only he [the Doctor] wasn't so...different.

Martha: Oh, you have no idea of how different he really is.

Tallulah: He's a man, sweetheart, that's different enough!

- Doctor Who, "Evolution Of The Daleks"

Jack Harkness: Tosh was right, she went for the ex-boyfriend. Lucky she's young - work your way through my back catalogue, we'll be here 'til the Sun explodes!

- Torchwood, "Day One"

There is, of course, Kaylee's immortal Serenity 'nethers' line, but we all know that one, don't we? :)

Jaws

Brody: You're gonna need a bigger boat.

Brody: Then why don't we have one more drink and go down and cut that shark open?
Ellen Brody: Martin? Can you do that?
Brody: I can do anything; I'm the chief of police.

Hooper: Well, this is not a boat accident! And it wasn't any propeller; and
it wasn't any coral reef; and it wasn't Jack the Ripper! It was a shark!

Quint: Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women.

Hooper: Mr. Vaughn, what we are dealing with here is a perfect engine,
an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine
does is swim and eat and make little sharks, and that's all.

Brody: Smile you son of a BITCH!!

... oooOO}{OOooo ...

Good dialogue = Classic movie

Hmmm. It helps to have a great villain, too.

Roy Batty: "Gosh, you've... really got some nice toys here."

"In the futuristic year of 2019, Los Angeles has become a dark and depressing
metropolis, filled with urban decay. Rick Deckard, an ex-cop, is a Blade Runner".

Gosh, only 3 years until Bladerunner happens. We live in interesting times.

... oooOO}{OOooo

Can I cheat and mention the best radio show ever, The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy?

Arthur Dent: I mean, what is the point?
Nutrimatic Drink Machine: Nutrition and pleasurable sense data. Share And Enjoy.
Arthur: Listen, you stupid machine, it tastes filthy! Here, take this cup back! (he throws the cup at it)
Nutrimatic Drink Machine: If you have enjoyed the experience of this drink, why not share it with your friends?
Arthur: Because I want to keep them! Will you try and comprehend what I'm telling you? That drink -
Nutrimatic Drink Machine: That drink was individually tailored to meet your personal requirements for nutrition and pleasure.
Arthur: Ah. So I'm a masochist on a diet, am I?!

The Guide: The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy is an indispensable companion to all those who are keen to make sense of life in an infinitely complex and confusing universe; for though it cannot hope to be helpful or informative on all matters, it does make the reassuring claim that where it is inaccurate, it is at least definitively inaccurate. In cases of major discrepancy it is always reality that's got it wrong.

Charles Dickens does not often resonate for me. But after Spock gives Tale of Two Cities as Kirk's birthday gift, and then offers this quote from the book, it was pertinent.
But the concept was well known in military circles. It is the binding concept of voluntary military service. At any moment, your life may be the price of Liberty for people you have never met.
