They were dependent on the Ukrainian government for the lease Russia signed allowing them to establish a Navel base in Crimea when this thread started. Russia's military clubs for teens: Proud patriotism or echoes of fascism?

It's been five years since Zotov founded Our Army, one of thousands of "military-patriotic youth organizations" answering President Vladimir Putin's call for preparing the next generation of Russian soldiers as the Kremlin flexes its reinvigorated military muscle abroad.

I will say one thing. By threat of death and control of media and a steady diet of lies and fabrications Putin seems to have galvanized his country. Compared to our infighting and stagnation it's impressive to see so much movement in one direction, even if it's motivations are sinister, selfish and rotten. My God I hate our politics.

it's easy to galvanize hate G and remember the country is the recipient of the worst kind of propaganda. The kind designed to whip it into a frenzy. If you print the truth you are closed down or worse yet, killed.

Yes our country's politics' leave a lot to be desired at the moment. But remember the Russian people gave up their freedom to this guy who dictates what is to be. Our politics at the moment is driven by fringe elements of the people, not the politicians. That's a big difference. They gave up the rule of law to this guy who steals as much as a quarter of the countries wealth with his cronies. Russia is a country where if you speak to loudly about Putin you wind up dead. Sadly Russia is a gangster (Mafia) state and nothing more. You have to add to that, a bully to it's neighbors.
