thoughts on an improbable film/mini series story line

Hi,
1) Fox done us in by canceling the series in 2002-3.
2) Wash and Book were killed off in a story-line ending movie.
3) Indiana Jones had a movie "series" ending with the "Last Crusade". 18 years later, the 4th was made. The "NOW" having been moved from 1938 to 1957 to allow aging of the actors.
How would I envision a sequel?
A) have a former cohort of Shepard Book find an inconsistancy in either Blue Sun or Niska. He/she is a close confidant to Shepard Book - and decides the older crew of Serenity might be the best way to infiltrate the issue.
B) Wash - have Zoe either 1) have cloned Wash and find out that the clone is not Wash - maybe even an anti-Wash or 2) have Wash and Zoe have stored sperm and egg and have a post death son/daughter of Wash and Zoe. Some flashbacks to Wash and Zoe alive could be used.
C) taking a page from real life (Dezi Arnez and Lucile Ball or Sonny and Cher) find that the "marriage" between Mal and Innara failed but they have remained very close friends. Maybe throw in a child to boot.
D) if another sub-plot is desired, have Kaylee and Simon having a failed relationship (not marriage). Maybe have Kaylee with a small child.
E) If something really odd is desired, have a strong (almost Zoe-like) faithful to the straight and narrow Alliance military (retired or falsely drummed out of the service) female be Jayne's wife (After the fact I realized this is sort of like Horace Harkness and Sergeant Major Babcock in the Honor Harington books - sorry about that).
Just disjointed thoughts. Interesting possibilities.
