Serenity movie - is there more and is there interrest?

Hi,

I was watching National Treasure and the bonus material on DVD last night.

If this has been discussed here, before, could someone help me find the thread?

The comment by the director of National Treasure was that once all the footage that was shot to make a movie was rough spliced together, the mivie was some 4+ hours long. Mich too long for a regular movie.

If the unused sections of Serenity (even if not fully featured with music and such) were put together, how long is the movie?

With DVD/Blu-ray, a four or five hour movie could be stopped while phone calls, kitchen breaks, and so forth are made would not be as much of a hassle as at a movie theater.

Would Wedon and the fan base be interested in such a product for home viewing?

Food for thought.

I found the deleted scenes on the Serenity DVD very good and would like to see them in the main movie (such as Inarra's scene concerning her romance with a pirate).

I want a completely new story continuing the adventures of our crew, not just an expanded version of the one I've already seen dozens of times.

The problem is that most of the cast has moved on to other shows and films, Joss is now at Disney and Tim is at "American Horror Story". Getting everyone or even most of them back together will be difficult.

I didn't say I expected it to happen, just that it is what I want.

Even if there are extra scenes Joss cut from the movie, most won't have been color-timed, or FX applied. Even some we saw as extras on the DVD/Blu-Ray were like that.

Hi,

I had forgotten that something like this had happened before.

In 1963, The movie "The Pink Panther" was released. Great comedy with Peter Sellars. Several sequals were made.

Sellers died in 1980. In 1982, a NEW Pink Panther movie was made. With a lot of the unused clips from the from the earlier movies and stand ins, look-alikes, and new footage; Blake Edwards did a sequel AFTER the lead actor had died.

I'm not saying it should be done, just food for though.

The Rotten Tomatoes rating for The Pink Panther movies were excellent, until 1982. Terrible from then onward in five movies. I think we could draw some conclusions from that.

I would love to see an extended cut of Serenity, but IIRC Joss doesn't believe in "Director's Cuts".
