My Lover's Gone

Monday, April 10, 2006

Well, this is the result of experimenting with a couple of different tutorials. It's not what I planned and it turned out way different than anything else I've done. I'm not sure I like the script I used for the title; I was completely obsessed with it when I downloaded it a couple weeks ago, but I'm not quite sure it fits with the rest of it. Feedback is always welcome! :)

Oh, and kudos to my friend Kim who suggested Dido's song "My Lover's Gone" as the perfect zoe/wash song when I was having a hard time coming up with something that fit this piece.

Aww very touching. "Honestly, there could be tears." :)

Good filters, and I think the font works just fine. I really like the composition, and how there's no clear border.

Zoe didn't only lose her husband she lost her soulmate. This image shows that. Good job!

OMG que the tears...

The font's a little too ornate for Zoe, imho. I think she'd like something slinkier. ;) I love this screensaver; it's heartbreaking.

Thanks for the feedback guys! For those who were wondering, the script is called Renaissance Scrolls. Having posted this, I'm now in the mood to mess with it again. LOL. So I might try a different font as well as fixing some things and then reposting.

Would you be so kind as to email me the font? I tried to google it, but that only brought up a dead link.

Mail is diefalkin(at)yahoo.de

Remove the (at) with brackets.

Thanks!

Oooh, very shiny! You got this whole "old film reel" effect going, which gives it an extra, like documentary value. Very, very, good work! The font, btw, is perfect. It belongs exactly to that "old movie reel" thing (like you would see on a Laurel and Hardy movie). I'm very impressed.
