Giggles emanated from inside the shuttle as Zoe, River, Kaylee and Inara sat inside talking about the recent news. Zoe didn’t normally participate in their girl talks, but Kaylee had begged and the first mate couldn’t find it in her heart to refuse.
None of the men even dared to go near the shuttle, including Simon – who knew he’d get the highlights from Kaylee later anyway.
“So how did he do it?” Inara asked with a genuinely curious smile.
River giggled and Kaylee playfully slapped at her shoulder as she sipped some warm sake. River obviously knew and would probably tease Simon mercilessly for weeks when she finally found the most embarrassing way to tell him she knew.
Zoe raised an eyebrow, sensing something of a secret between the younger girls.
“What?” Inara glanced between the two, wondering what she’d said.
“Well –” Kaylee flushed, cheeks turning pink as she remembered how Simon had proposed.
“Is this something that is going to embarrass Simon?” Inara asked with an amused grin.
River smiled proudly. “Oh yes.”
Inara leaned back, content t
Loved the River/Jayne interaction at the end, too.

Poor River..z sure she took Simon away from everything he had, everything he COULD have given his wife... but if she hadn't taken him away from that, he wouldn't have had Kaylee as a wife in the first place. I'd say the taking away was a very good thing!
Keep it up!
You can't take the sky from me
:D
Leiasky, you continue to impress me with you ability to write material that's all manner of smutty, but without losing the concept of plot. I salute you;)

>I am curious to see the WEDDING,
You'll see it. There are some surprises in store there as well. I am truly dreading writing it and have been dragging my feet. I write angst so much better than happy.
Right now, I have three more stories complete in the series that have been written so at some point very soon there won't be daily updates anymore.
I have a brief outline for the rest of the stories in the series (which ends with a specific event) but it deals with some not so pleasant things I want to make sure I research thoroughly enough before I write them as the tone of the series will probably change drastically after these events take place.

I'll be in my bunk!
"River’s voice had changed as well. And it was clear that she was sad to have taken Simon away from everything he had known, all the wealth he would have to give a wife if he hadn’t come for her."
Yeah, but he wouldn't have been able to give it to Kaylee, which would be a shame.
As for the sex in this one, well, I'll be in my bunk.
And yay for River reminding Jayne that he's not the only one who is not gettin' any, though dealing with River's sexuality is a touchy subject for most.
