Also, the last one I wrote, I started late and had to end it somewhere so I could sleep...I admit, it wasn't exactly the best place.

*Joss is the greatest, I'm only borrowing his awesomeness of Serenity/Firefly.

She didn’t expect to ever see him again. He was just another passer-by customer who didn’t know anything. Yet there he stood, in a brown coat. He was talking to a woman, trying to convince her of the ship’s worth.

“Try to see past what she is and on to what she can be?”

It was apparent to her that the woman respected the young man by her warm-hearted but firm disagreement to the purchase of the ship. Purchase of the ship. That feeling came rushing back. That hope. Those faint embers of ignited into full-blown hope. But it was more than that even. She was going to fly again. She was going to be in that great blue.

Her mind took flight for several seconds as she imagined herself rushing into the open sky, careening through the playful clouds and soon rising above them. Her structure would shake ever so slightly as she broke atmo and finally left behind this hopeless desert. But, the daydream was interrupted when she heard the man speak once more.

Hi - I liked both of these. She is so much a character in the series - you have given her a voice!

very minor suggestion - could you change "that great blue" to "that great black"?

Ok, now the last line in Part 1 makes sense. Mal was not looking forward to convincing Zoe the ship could fly. Great voice you are giving her. Keep it up.
