Finding Solace
By Kessa (YoSaffBrig)
It seemed like everyone needed the infirmary for something that day. River woke up extremely fidgety and on edge. She had been rambling constantly all morning and Simon had been afraid to let her out of his sight for even a moment. Jayne had nearly ripped a tendon in his leg lifting something earlier in the cargo bay and had been laid up in the infirmary whining about it since the incident. Zoe was tending to Wash who was lying down uncomfortably on the side bunk sick with some 24-hour stomach virus. Kaylee had cut her arm on a piece of Serenity’s inner workings in the engine room and the doctor was in the middle of stitching her up when Mal strode in bellowing loudly.
“Where the chiang-Bao Hoe-tze duh guay is my crew?”
Ever since Simon, Kaylee, Mal and Inara had returned from Sundale Estates having rescued the 150 men an
"I love my captain."
I had missed the first story and had to go back and read it first. Phew. Very very lovely.
I almost would have been more amused though if the "representatives" would have actually been looking for Kaylee and Inara to come put on another show.
As it is, I liked that it was the catalyst for Simon to recover his self power. I could see him slipping into a violent lifestyle play that would destroy him...not with Mal, necessarily, but overall.
My favorite part though, I think, was the conversation with Book. His voice is hard to capture well so it's good to see it done right. Thank you!
You write very well...very erotic and hypnotic. Loved every second.

The one problem is it's not too credible in my eyes. I could stretch my imagination enough to see the story of The Innocents happening, which made it all the more affecting. With this one, the little nagging in the back of my head kept saying "this just wouldn't happen."
I hope you keep writing more of these stories; I look forward to reading them.
*loves you*
I have enjoyed writing this set of stories. I am very much into ending stories back into canon no matter how far they may stray. If you have any coupling ideas for me that you could see coming back round to canon, please feel free to let me know.
Until next time,
