Safe opens his eyes and looks around. He’s lying on a bed in an infirmary

"Well if we didn't make it and were caught by Reavers....they've changed their ways some...”

Safe tries to get up and grimaces. The pain felt like being kicked in the side by a horse.

Safe mutters to himself, "No sense lying around. Best find Jack and get a lay of the land."

He thinks to himself, “A thanking is in order to the crew of this boat, mostly the turret operators for the cover fire.”

Jack attacks Safe just as he leaves the infirmary, "OH MY GOD, SAFE!!! WE'RE ON A BOAT OF CANNIBALS! THEY, LIKE, EAT PEOPLE FROM THE INSIDE OUT!! THEY HAD YOUR RIBS FOR DINNER LAST NIGHT!!!"

Safe calmly wipes away the spittle, "Nice guys?"

Jack lets go of Safe and shrugs, "Eh. They're alright."

“C’mon, let’s go get our gear.” Safe says with a grimace.

In the docking bay, an announcement sounds signaling the docking of a ship called the Destiny’s Shadow.

Safe looks up from his duffle bag he had just retrieved from the mule, in time to see the docking door open and vision in wings step through followed by a shorter, slighter woman. The two women were as different as night and day. The first woman exuded and air of cheeriness that was only reinforced by the constant smile and the wings on her back. The only thing Safe found out of place was the two swords handles showing from the scabbards on her back. The second woman was smaller and lither. She moved with a fluid grace and even though she was smiling there was an edge to her that made the swords handles visible over her shoulders not seem out of place.

The winged woman walks toward Safe and Jack. "Hey! You're new! Welcome aboard. I'm Serenity and this is Deuce.”

Safe elbows Jack. "Jack, pretty girl speakin' here." Jack looks up startled.
