Yes, the design and icons are all my original work. Thanks for the compliment! This was the description that was too long to post above:
I originally was designing a group of Firefly icons for use with MSN or LiveJournal. The idea was simple enough - a picture of each crewmember, paired with a concept that they represent. However, about halfway through I realized there was potential for more with the images, and this is what I came up with. All icons were made with MSPaint; the full image was done with Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Original images came from various pictures off the web except for Mal's, where I took an actual screenshot of an episode. Me again. I was re-reading it, and I realized that the word for Simon's pic, Devotion, fits so well. He loves his sister, and will do practically anything for her. How more devoted can you get?
