It goes anywhere, just not in space...

Since folks who own Samurais tend to decorate them a bit, I drew this on the hood of my '88.

Notes on how I did it (LEFT-HANDED, no less!):

4 bottles of Testor's Acrylic model paint from Hobby Lobby (not the Radio Control hobby store, the other one) - 2 yellow and 2 red.

1 Black marker

1 pencil

1 printed out screen capture from cantstopthesignal.com

Mix a red and yellow bottle until you get the desired color of orange

Paint with a small brush (gives it a rough texture) an orange circle (10-15 inches in diameter) of a proportional to the logo width.

Mix the remains of the yellow and the other yellow with a touch of red for the desired center color and paint the inside circle.

Use a pencil to lay out an outline of the characters. If the alignment is not right, you can wipe it off with elbow grease and a damp cloth/paper towel and re-do it.

Once the outline is laid out to your satisfaction, fill in the outline with the black felt-tip pen (a Sharpie (tm) works well).

Remember, Chinese characters are often done freehand with a brush, so try to imitate the "freehand" look -- don't make the character edges perfect.

yours in art,

Ack
