Oh and Rivers is Elizabeth :-).

Prologue

He sat in a small cube shaped room, the room had no windows and only a single heavy steel door interrupted the cold grey angular walls. He sat at a steel desk, its surface clinically sterile except for a small orderly pile of grey-green folders each of which bared a name in black bold letters. His eyes dissected the words in the folder before him, blue latex gloves moving only occasionally to turn a page.

The door opened silently and a second suited figure, bearing the same blue gloves, entered the room. “We may have overlooked something” said the first man without looking up from the file. His eyes having finally extracted every last detail, looked up and locked on to his partner “We may have a latent kinetic”, at the statement his partners left eyebrow arched slowly, the only sign of his surprise visible on his otherwise immobile face. “This one becomes our highest priority” he finished slowly taping the now closed file. His partner eyes scanned across the black stencilled letters forming the name on the front, his eyebrow arched a little faster and further than before, “Tam, Dr. S. J.”.

Scene 1

“Captain could you join me in the infirmary” the voice, unmistakable the Shepard’s, radiated from the ships coms. Captain Malcolm Reynolds looked up from where he had be going over the details of their next job, “be right there” he replied with just a hint of annoyance.

When he reached the infirmary the Doc was patching up yet another scrape on his ships engineer, in his opinion little Kaylee seemed to have become a lot more accident prone since the good doctor had come onboard. “So what’s up” he called as he strolled into the infirmary. The Doc locked up startled, his face slightly paled, Kaylee just st

Hey Guardian. Didnt you originally post this back in May of last year? I just found that one last week. Love the plot scheme so far.

I enjoyed this. The bit about 'in his opinion little Kaylee seemed to have become a lot more accident prone since the good doctor had come onboard' gave me a laugh.

Ooooo. Nice set up. Hit 'em hard and leave 'em hangin'. That's my motto. More please. :)

Hey-

This looks really interesting. I especially like the way you eased into the prologue. But one small suggestion, it was kind of hard to read (that's cause I'm in my mid twenties and already blind); you may want to think about spacing out the dialogue a bit more as opposed to having in all in one continuous paragraph.

Pretty shexney start... but if you don't keep it up, I'll cry... A LOT (so no pressure now! :P)

Interasting and a nice start. Wish it was a bit longer since just as you get into it, it's over. But nice all the same.

I love the premise! And that Kaylee keeps having little accidents that she needs Simon to look at. Hee. I hope that you continue soon, I'd love to see where you take this. :-)

I have taken a strong interest in the hands of blue dudes so you can guess that this tickles my fancy. Maybe make new paragraphs when new people are talking? You don't have to I'll read it anyway.

Why did you stop? This was a lovely opener. I'd love to know if Simon and Kaylee's relationship had become a bit more - intimate, for lack of a better word.

When is this story supposed to take place? I assume before the Movie and after Objects in Space?

I'd love to read more.

Wow, why did you stop? This was a great opener. Would love to see what was to come next.

You might want to think of paragraph breaks, though. It was a bit hard to read.

Wow... shiney opening salvo indeed!!! I agree on the spaceing issues, but other than that, this is a gorram PRETTY opening piece, PLEASE update soon, or I will be very sad, I may even cry a bit =P I always wondered about one of the crew possibly getting psychic powers of a more... offencive nature than Rivers =P seems like a damn cool idea to have Simon be all "Im gunna whoop on you with my mind, while my sister reads yours and lets me know where the dangers are" kinda 2 man psychic attack squad dealie thinger, and yes, I know I'm rambaling now... so.... shutting up and going to go find my brain =)
