Man who Flies

Monday, October 11, 2004

I'm sure all of you have heard about the death of Superman, Christopher Reeves. Got me to thinking, so I made up this quick oneshot poem told from River's P.O.V. about heroes. Could be describing Superman, could be describing Mal and Serenity. Take your pick. Hope you enjoy.

Man who flies

Inspirational to all

But one day must fall

Feathers wilt away with age

But spirit still indominable

Flight, Fly, Firefly, Freedom

Sense of awe

Of never hitting the ground

Of power for good

Villains could never fly as well as heroes

Flying terror can’t inspire like flying hope

Flying hope makes us all fly

Gives inspiration to all who feel the following wind
