"Sir, you better have a look at this," says the deputy, handing the sheriff a dvd. THe sheriff takes the dvd.

"What is this?" he ask.

"It's a recording of an attempted robbery that occurred at the local bank. The robber tried to break into a vault containing $2,500"

The sheriff looks dubious. "How did it fail?"

"You'll see" The sheriff puts the dvd into the player and presses play. A image of the front of the vault appears, with a combination lock on it. After a moment or two, Jayne Cobbs enters the room with a smoking gun. He holsters the gun, licks his i right index finger and began turning the combination lock. After one or two seconds he stops and notices the camera. Jayne stares at it, then smiles and waves at it. Acting as though it was the first time he has ever been recorded, he waves and does funny other gestures.

He stops suddenly, looks behind him, pulls out his gun, shoots and makes a mad dash out of the vaultroom. The sheriff sighs.

"That was just dumb."
