"Dead fish" Hmmm. Could that be why Nathan referred to it as the "Death Fish" shirt at Dragon*Con? I'll have to look that up...

OK, the first character is:
dai- bones
There's also a chance that the second character makes it "evil bones"

Or, closer still, it's the symbols for "crushed bones" and "inverted person"

I've been learning some Japanese, and some of the (kanji) symbols are very similar to Chinese. To me that looks like only one character, "Shi" (die, death) from the verb "shi-nu" (to die) I don't know how to pronounce it in Mandarin, though...
