That's us! We can finally talk about it! Yaaaaaayyy!

Manwithpez and I posed for this cover for Hughes at D*C a few years ago. He liked our costumes and said that someday they might get to make this series and would we mind posing a few ways for him. Of course! I think Kaylee got more of my not so well defined neck than Jewel's pretty neck. Sorry.

He specifically asked me to cling to Simon happily and longingly. And for Pez to try to be not so into it.

Adam Hughes is a great guy. If you ever see him at a con, stop to say hi.

So, this is my new favorite cover out of the Better Days lot.

Regardless I don't usually dig covers done in this style, love the whole ensamble; Kaylee fawning over Simon, Simon trying to be cool about it (hee the smirk)and River joyfully making stuff with the money. Also, props to him for drawing Simon and making Simon look like Simon. TLB had some drawings of the Doc that just didn't look like him at all.

Simon and River look ok but that doesn't look like Kaylee at all.

This is the same artist that did the covers for the last comic series, right?

Yeah, not a fan of his work.

The last series? Adam Hughes did not do the individual covers for Those Left behind. He did the pretty blue cover for the TPB...the one with Serenity, Inara, and Mal.

Not a fan of his work? Do you know how much Star Wars stuff this guy does? I mean, I just assumed with a name like Leiasky and all...

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm not a fan of his Serenity work. I've never seen any of his Star Wars work but I haven't been active in that fandom since Lucas released his travesty series of films he called 'prequels'.

If the likenesses are anything like the Serenity stuff, I probably wouldn't like it either.

Just because one does a LOT of something, doesn't mean its good . . .

Beauty, after all, is in the eye of the beholder. And what I've beheld of his work is far from beautiful.

Others, no doubt, feel differently.

He did some of the sketch cards for Star Wars anniversary (pictures drawn on 2.5 x 3.5 cards).

You can find them here:

Wow.

With exception of a few pieces, that art is pretty bad. Doesn't even look like Harrison, Mark and Carrie. A few of them do, but a very few.

Definitely not a fan of the work now.

I will still get the Serenity Comic because I'm more interested in the content than the cover.

Can't say as I am a big fan of his work, either. The likeness of the characters is just too much off. But I like River in this image. :)

Then why do you even feel the need to even say anything at all. Just felt a burning desire to have everyone know that you dislike the artwork? Cause, you know...could've kept that to yourself. Especialy when there's a couple of people on here who say that it has s special meaning to them. Or, perhaps that's what your problem is.

If you don't have anything nice to say...well, you know the rest.

@manwithpez: It's a little concept called honesty, and being positive. To say that, while you may not like a artists's overall work, that you can still find good in it.
