073. Secret

Kaylee awoke feeling unbelievably achy and more than a little exhausted, but she didn’t care. She had Simon back, he loved her and everything was as it should be. As she rolled over to lie back in his arms, she pouted when she noticed he wasn’t in bed with her. Looking around the room, she didn’t see him, but then heard the sound of someone in the bathroom.

Before she even had time to question him, Simon opened the door, his naked form causing her eyes to dance with mischief and he smiled at her with that swai grin. “Join me?” he asked, his own eyes sparkling.

Loved all the Kaylee and Simon goodness but it was the Mal and Inara part that had my little heart go pitter-pat. When Inara confessed to Mal that she loved him and there was that big pause, gorramit, my heart near stopped beating too! Was all manner of happy when he confessed he loved her too. Aww, now I can sleep and have happy dreams! Ali D :~)

I can totally see Kaylee proposing to Simon. It is in her nature to be forward. I love your story and you have an amazing grasp on the characters. Post soon please!

Mostly fluffy, until the very end!

I liked Kaylee being forward and asking Simon to marry her. I could see her doing that.

River's disgust at helping her brother get laid was just funny.

And I figured the 'secret' she knew was about a bun in the oven. I was glad it was something else.

The proposal was so sweet and Kaylee, but that ending had gotten me really nervous.

Let's see...a Sadie Hawkins proposal....Inara confessing her feelings for Mal to the same fellow and freaking out when he ain't quick on the draw in responding...a mysterious nightmare. Yep...you SO rock, TamSibling;D

Definitely loved this chapter for both its angsty and fluffy bits, especially River's humorous inner monologue about the gross/wonderful feelings she has about helping her older get some nookie. Utterly perfect for Brat!River;D

Gotta say though...I do have concerns about this mysterious nightmare. Just hope it doesn't meant Kaylee has been secretly programmed to kill the crew like another flanfic author had happen to Kaylee in a tale.
