A/N: Where to begin -
I started this story last summer, and it's been finished for quite a while. I had some final tweaks to make, which is why it's taken so long to get it posted.
It is based on a specific http://www.geocities.com/maegovannen/Firefly/Joss100Challenge.html> prompt table provided by the ridiculously talented Leiasky. ~ Her story using the same table can be found by clicking http://www.fireflyfans.net/bluesun.aspx?bid=10983> here. It's a great story and I highly recommend it. ~
This first chapter (as well as many of the others) are pretty much PG to PG-13, but there will be a few that stray into the NC-17 arena. Each chapter will be marked appropriately.
This story would not have been possible without the unflagging encouragement of Leiasky! Not only is she an outstanding writer, but she's a great beta and an even better friend! Thank you.
I really hope you all like this. It was a labor of love, I can assure you. And it is angst-ridden, fluffy, smutty and hero-ical too!
And remember, comments make the chapters come faster ... really, it's scientific fact!

The Right To Love - Chapter 1 (Prompts 1-10)
***
001. Dreams
Simon was not a dreamer, never had been. That had been River’s domain. She had delighted in lands of make believe, flitting about with imaginary playmates and tales of wonder. She had been the one to skip through spectrums of color, bathing in the glow – she danced with untold grace from one pretend moment to the next.
Not Simon; while his sister lived in a rainbow, Simon lived in the black and white, the absolute and the void, the right and wrong, the true and false version of the universe. He did not skip about or play or wander along in flights of fancy. His friends were math and science, the hard truths, the cold veracity of yes and no.
But here, in the black, where Simon felt everything should be cast in a light of greater contrast, he found the grayscale cumbersome.
What's going on?
The chapter fairy might just go on vacation ... and leave you hanging ...
I like how you highlight Simon's internal hostility towards Mal and Jayne and his own fears of inadequacy towards Kaylee. I always thought Simon was the most heroic of the guys on Serenity, moreso than Mal or Jayne, and it's weird to see Simon think of himself as a coward.
Keep it up, although I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel series to BEST INTENTIONS.
There's also a chance that the sequel will really end up as the middle part of a trilogy - I've got some ideas percolating for a third part as well! We'll see! Thanks!
Definitely loved this little intro collection, especially prompt #8 since it really delves into how Simon's POV about his conduct compared to Mal or Jayne's is so skewed towards being dangerously self-critical that it could possibly make Simon do something stupid...like posture his way off a cargo ship that had been his "home" for 8+ months?
;D

Because his reality was a nightmare.'
That was an awesome line.
She's to blame for me getting no writing done of my own. Really. Yep.
It's been so long since I'd read these it was nice to read them again! I like Nightmare, but then I know how long it took you to write that particular one. Blackbeanie pointed out my favorite line as well.
Because his reality was a nightmare."
I love how this flows together! I'm curious to see where you take these prompts post-BDM.
I so can't remember what I said :(
But I do remember that I LOVED this!!
I love the 'prompt' style fics, couldn't do it myself I'm sure, though I'd love to try. Anyway, so glad to have more of your work Tamsibling, yours was the first FF fan fiction I ever read so I've got a soft spot for ya.
