He Never Left Serenity : Cindy’s diary (part 2 in what I hope to be a He Never Left series)
A few weeks have passed since Charlie and I discovered Serenity. Charlie has already lost interest in the ship. He says I harp too much about not touching things. Takes the fun out of it.
I’ve been back many times though. I try not to disturb much, but I want to find a log or registry, something that will tell me who he is. The Bible is tied to the ship, I know it. I don’t know how though. I picked it up the last time I walked to Serenity. When I placed it on the dining room table…I don’t know. It just seemed right.
There is a partial name on the worn cover: D. Boo. I wonder if D. Boo was part of the crew. I wonder where the crew is. Why was the pilot, or captain or whoever he is, left alone to die? Did he choose to die that way? Did his crew abandon him?
Could he be D. Boo? Maybe the Bible belonged to him. But if it did, how did it get outside of the ship? Too many questions.
There seem to be rooms along the hallway leading to the cockpit. I haven’t tried opening the doors yet. Maybe I’ll do that tomorrow. Or not…sigh…I forgot…mom and dad are planning a party for me tomorrow. The big 18. Big deal. Guess I best turn out the lights and go to bed. I know I’ll dream of flying in Serenity. Sweet dreams.

Squee. I like your teenaged characters. Respectful Cindy is good.
