Wow....a split second after I looked at Mal's face and was impressed by how you captured his grim ferocity in that scene, a tiny little tear started trying to escape.
You did more than capture that moment, you caught one of the many things that still makes me cry about that episode; the fact that Mal, through all that horror and pain and suffering, remains so firmly the Mal we know and love. That face in the drawing isn't some actor playing a guy in pain - it's *Mal,* the Mal we love, coping with and enduring the unthinkable....and still being himself enough at the end to stand up and defend himself, to choose the perfect strategic moment to overcome his attackers.
Your ability to capture the essense of Mal never stops amazing me.

Why is this rated a 9? I didn't do that by accident, did I? I meant 10.......

Thanks, Jetflair...I posted another comment a bit ago...didn't seem to go through..but your comments a few pieces ago pushed me to try and get as much detail in watercolor as I could (without tearing up the paper)

It ain't photorealistic of that exact moment...but this is even better! You get all the raw emotion and power coming off Mal during this moment without losing it to a jump cut to Niska & co;D

This is beyond words. The way you have so accurately captured his...character, his personality, his stubborn unrelenting loyalty. It is truely a masterpiece.
