Ok, so I have been sick lately and right now I am very very annoyed because the show I was looking forward to all day (Criminal Minds, great show) was replaced with a basketball game (boo) and the thing that sucks is, its only because I live in columbus. Everywhere else, my show is still on. No fun, no fun at all. The bucks can burn in hell (and if anyone around here heard me say so, I would be beaten) but at any rate, Photoshop is like therapy and I haven't submitted anything in a long time. I kinda started this as an 'amusing moment' wallpaper but then somehow it evolved into that plus 'evolution of mal and river's relationship' - I honestly don't know how I got to that, but when I look at it - well that's what it is- so while I am slightly bewildered and confused, I am pleased with how this came out. It was a bit of a struggle. Anyway, Comments are great - c'mon, be kind to the sick girl ;)

I love the paint-like effect you've got for the images in the background. How do you do that?

Very well done. The picture is almost flawless in the delicate cropping you've done. You've managed to incorperate 5 (or more) different images into one without it looking so. Excellent.
Only thing I would have to comeent on, is Mal's shoulder just above Rivers neck looks slightly pixalated. I expecially like the slight 'halo-effect' you've made on the large Mal.
Great work once again, and get well soon. Just remember though, if you're going through hell... keep going.

Jane0904 - I used the filter effect "dry brush" in photoshop to get the paint effect on the image in the background - A personal favorite of mine :)

Superfluous - I think that the reason it looks pixalated is because of the filter effect - also I was using a slightly lower quality 'cap :P

This is very cool. I like how the main focus seems to be that hilarious moment in the infirmary, but any Browncoat will be able to tell the story behind the rest of the pictures. Great work!

To reiterate: this is some definitely brilliant stuff, Nidrian, and I really think it shows of the Mal/River relationship brilliantly...though not the one you seem to think you emphasized.

Personally, I think this little montage really shows the father-daugther relationship Mal and River have (even if it's not really a blood-based one), since Mal's indicating he doesn't care if River is all creepy cuz he cares about her regardless of her mental state. Though he does prefer her quiet moments of nuttiness;D

ah...the strange, interesting, morbid facts you learn on firefly. the two most interesting facts in the series are: how much pressure it takes to break human skin and how long it takes to drain the human body of blood. "Morbid and creepifying" is exactly correct.
