Kaylee bit into her toast, enjoying the fresh butter that had seeped in.
What’cha got there?” Jayne asked, entering the galley.
“Toast. I used some of the butter Book brought from the Abbey.”
“Mmmm. Sounds good. Reckon I’ll make some my own self.”
Jayne deliberately brushed against her on his way to the counter.
Kaylee bit her lip to stop herself from squealing, goosebumps rising on her skin. That man had a strong effect on her.
Jayne growled, “Ya ‘kay, Kaylee girl?”
“Fine,” Kaylee squeaked, blushing.
Jayne noticed. He continued making his toast, a smile slowly spreading across his face.
