I'll be posting from FFF.NET from here on out to get an idea of what needs to be made and what needs to be fixed. Did you all see the new Scott Pilgrim trailer?

FFF.NET 2.0 Updates and Mr. T pity the new A-Team.
Monday, 07 June 2010 09:01:50

Spent a good part yesterday and today working on The Blue Sun room. I really should have a formal ChangeLog setup to keep track of all the changes. Maybe later on this week. Anyway, here are the latest changes (as much as I can recall): - Added individual blue sun item listings. - Added blue sun item listing sorted alphabetically. - Added commenting and rating to blue sun items. - Added fanfic quotes to main page. - Added donate button to main page. - User names are now linked to their profiles on main page. Numerous other little fixes that I can't remember at the moment. See, I need that log. Some to-dos for next time: - Link username on blue sun room page to user profile. - Add user info to blue sun room listing for individual. - Work on events page. - Work on restoring on firefly reference database. - and maybe add the change log. That's pretty much it right now. More to come. Read a brief article in the Toronto Sun about Mr. T not liking the new A-Team movie. He thinks there's too much sex and violence, which is to be expected. The 58 years old Mr. T says, "People die in the film and there's plenty of sex but when we did it, no one got hurt and it was all played for fun and family entertainment. These seem to be elements nobody is interested in anymore." I think in general, all the TV series nowadays ramped those two things up more than a few notches since the 80's. And if it's not sex and violence, gore is probably the next thing on the list. This sort of brings me to Starz's 'Spartacus.' Finally finished the season. All I can say it is great. It has everything that Mr. T probably won't like, nudity, sex, violence, and gore. I made a comment on Facebook that I saw more heads fly off gushing corpses in a single episode of 'Spartacus' than I ever did watching network TV. I think I counted 8. If I was mistaken, it's probably because I was distracted by the flying severed limbs. This may sound bad, but the writing and plotting for 'Spartacus' is so damn good that everything else takes a back seat. Well, the scenes of full frontal nudity caught me off guard a bit, but we're all adults right? I'm sure there are ladies out there who were thankful those scenes. Anyway, if you can get over the nudity, sex, violence, and gore. I highly recommend that you give 'Spartacus' a go. BTW, in case you didn't know, Jed Whedon and his wife, Maurissa Tancharoen, are now writing for the series. I'm sure we'll likely see more of Joss' co-horts joing in since the series was created by once 'Angel' scribe, Steven DeKnight. This preview probably has spoilers, so don't click if you plan to watch the series.

Bags are packed
Tuesday, 08 June 2010 01:48:12

Well, my bags are packed and I'm about to catch a ride to Bahrain. I've never been, so it should be interesting. All part of a two month cruise with the Navy. Should be a good time. And yes, both Firefly and Serenity are coming with me. I couldn't resist.

So Frustrated
Tuesday, 08 June 2010 18:01:07

I am in need to a part-time job. However I can only work during the week in the evening. I have a full time day job and it's just not enough. On the weekends I already have another job as well. I work for the Ohio Renaissance Festival and it is almost time for the ORF to start up again. Why won't any place work with someones schedule and allow them to work 5:30-close Mon-Fri?? Everyone insists that you have to be able to work one weekend day and that is just impossible for me to do, but I need to make some extra money for a more than possible move to Denver, Colorado. I just don't know what to do. I am sooo frustrated. :banghead:

Making Movies Is My Life
Saturday, 12 June 2010 10:24:14

It just occurred to me that I haven't posted anything here or on my blogspot page in a long time that wasn't a short film. I suppose that's because if I'm not taking care of the kids or at work, I'm working on a film of some kind. Actually, I'm probably doing it at work too. It's a call center. There's a lot of down time. Well, this one is for a contest my wife found for me at

Gorram... so much to read and so lil time in which to do it.

Seriously. theres so many Good Fanfics out there and coming out on a near daily baises. Some arent that great mainly cause its to short or just not enough effort made in to making it a story, but for every one like that there are five that are written by truely blessed authors that should probably consider writing something more serious. If it wasnt for these id be very bored most days. thanks to these ive almost completely kicked tv as a time killer. Just felt like sharing

....fuck. Julia Gillard is now Prime Minister of Australia. The first female ever. And now Labor has almost certainly lost the election. Unless Gillard can somehow convince everyone that she's better than Abbott....which really shouldn't be that hard.

Would You Like A Bedlam Bards Concert in Your Town?
Thursday, 24 June 2010 15:48:53

Ni-howdy, Browncoats, The Bedlam Bars are putting together a trip from Texas to Ontario and back, and we don't want to pass up a great opportunity to see lots of our shiny fellow Browncoats. So if you live in between Texas and Ontario, we'd love to play a house concert for your local crew. We'll even help you raise a little money for a local charity. A few of the cities we'd love to stop off in include Kansas City, Saint Louis, Chicago, and Madison--but nothing's nailed down yet. We like a slow, langorous journey. So send me an email at fithlere@gmail.com for more details. Keep flyin', Cedric

I need some help...

Does anyone remember the scene in "Serenity" where Mal is looking at Inara's picture? I forgot what scene it is, could anyone help out? Thanks!

Gyarrrr ... and such
Friday, 25 June 2010 20:25:53

So, I got really bored today and decided to actually log in and relive memories from 3-5 years ago. I have no idea how many folks from those days still frequent the site and am curious to find out. Remember me? I'm the kid that never calls but still feels a selfish need for feedback from the family. Feel free to respond or ignore me as punishment for my lack of recent visits. Regardless, happy to see the community still active. *** Went back and read some of my fanfic on the site. Alternated between shudders of pure embarrassment and throwing up in my mouth at the hack-ish prose. It is painfully obvious that non-fiction is my game. *** Dollhouse came and went in my absence. Two seasons? Was FOCKS afraid of another Browncoat uprising if they decided to kill it after one? Enjoyed the show. Would be fine if we don't revisit that universe, though. Was pleased with the ending. *** Imagine my final phrase as equal parts sarcastic and genuine (if that is at all possible): "Sorry I haven't been by much lately, but I've been REALLY BUSY."

Being a browncoat is sharing a powerful love of this little cancelled show with an extended family of friendly folk all across the world. It's not really a costume thing, or any such artificial construct. Most of us call ourselves browncoats because something about the show resonates very strongly with us, and when we discover other people with whom we have that in common, friendships are born. chchchch changes...

Okay, not so much with the working. Making with the full-time (and then some) studying. I am forcing myself to take the second half of the summer a little easier because the first half has been insane. I met another Firefly fan who is in both my classes, so it's not a total loss! Yes, only two classes. Two entire-semester of science-with-labs crammed into six weeks classes. Two two hours a day per class four days a week, one hour of recitation a week, and two three hour labs twice weekly. Now go write up your lab reports, read one chapter in each class per day, do the homework, take quizzes and an exam on three chapters or more every two weeks. I was going to do that *twice* this summer, but have decided to try sanity for a change and drop one of them instead. This allows me to go back and review the material I'm not really getting in the one class I'm having trouble with. I am still passing by the skin of my teeth, but it's a very thin film and we're not done yet. It puts me a semester behind where I wanted to be, but I'll survive and hopefully do better than I would have otherwise. Plus: I'll get to see my son and husband for more than an hour a day. Literally. Maybe even get more than six hours sleep per night while I'm at it. I really need to watch the BDS and BDM again. It's been too long.

I'm On a Boat
Saturday, 26 June 2010 23:02:30

So apparently there are no Firefly/Serenity vids to "I'm On a Boat," "Jizz in My Pants" or any other Lonely Island/SNL Digital Short songs. At least, none that I could find. Very disappointing! If I had the time/software/know how to make vids I would remedy this straightaway.

OTTAWA CSTS
Sunday, 27 June 2010 14:47:08

Today is Ottawa's Can't Stop the Serenity!!! And Dr. Horrible! I am so excited for it despite the FIVE people who canceled last minute on me. FIVE! How could they do this? It's SERENITY on the BIG screen! And it is so much fun to watch it in a theater of people who love it as much as I do. *grumbles at the lack of die-hard Browncoats in Ottawa*

Hi, sorry for being absent for so long. Stuff going on you know how it is. I was wondering if anyone would care to read over a Firefly fic I just started. Its only 3 pages so far and is most likely way out of character. Just a warning it does contain an original character and will have voilence and sex in it. Anyhow if anyone would care to help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Back Stories isn't dead!
Monday, 28 June 2010 16:43:20

I've gotten a few emails and reviews lately asking how my ancient fic is doing - thank you for asking! I'm glad folks are still interested! I have been making a lot of progress lately, in fact, I've got chapters 15-22 very nearly done. But several more chapters beyond that are needed. I don't want to start posting again until I've got the whole ending down, both to avoid more delays and so I can have things tied together nice and tight. I do love the details. Gotta get them right. I hope to start posting again by the end of July. Fingers crossed!

Strawberry Caper

Excerpt from the electronic diary of Kaywinnet Lee Frye, dated June 28, 2517 Hǎo-wā! Just had the shiniest idea ever! Okay, so I was walkin' around Eavesdown, the nice area? And y'know them strawberry bushes the city businesses plant for pretties? This idea came on me, all a sudden, I don't think they're eatin' 'em! So I stayed back, kinda sat myself on a knoll, and true as I thought, not a body stopped for some. Free yummies! :D Cap'n told me I was jīngcǎi but we still hafta buy canned protein.
