As I said before, I am a very new Firefly fan. I watched the show for the first time on Apple TV/Netflicks when I was forced recently to sit upright in a chair for 2 weeks due to a detached retina and surgery (all better now). I watched every episode in order, only stopping for eyedrops and to sleep... then I watched the movie which was also fabulous. I am now a rabid Firefly fan. What a great show!!! I plan on watching the episodes again from the beginning to catch all the nuances I may have missed. It was an intelligent, engaging show... and like so many of its ilk.. for those reasons it was doomed to cancellation. Much like Flash Forward.. which I think was on ABC a few years back and had a great premise.

SO Whats up everyone. I havent been on here in a very long while. School and work and life just became too much for a bit. I'm Loving the new Serenity serial comics. I'm wondering how they are going to be stacking up as far as the already established cannon. Only thing that has sorta annoyed me so far is that they forgot that Shadow, Mal's home world, was blackrocked. Referenced that in the BDM. But eh i can over look it. Glad to be back

I have not been on for a VERY long time due to dramatic changes in my life. I finally moved to Germany in January to enjoy it for 2 months and now I'm deployed again. Good times. At the end of this year I will be getting married! :) So excited to finally have my life in order. I hope everyone is doing okay. Stay Shiny!

....too much of a spell. But I'm back in and like to walk it a while. Whether or not I'm back to stay, no promises. My life has been empty enough for the past couple of years that I'll take what I can get to fill it again. Maybe I'll even be back writing fanfic again eventually; although with "Leaves on the Wind" taking the direction it's taking, I daresay some serious rethinking is in order. Any of the old guard still around? MsA? PhoenixRose? Avery? Navy? Zero? NVG? Gingerblue? Katesfriend? Anybody? *cocks an ear to the crickets*

Well, lately I've gotten interested in some other hobbies. Bought myself a couple of R/C cars, and an OWI Robot arm. Yepper, kinda got off into autonomous-type robotic vehicles, machines & etc., as well as remote controlled manipulation of same. This has some relation to my real world employment- I work in a plastics factory and we use a lot of robots to take parts out of molding machines and so on. And I'm fascinated by computer programming in all of its forms-- getting the evil machine to do what I want it to do. But the big news is that we're momentarily flush with cashy money so Mrs BC let me buy an Arduino Uno kit- kinda a little embedded computer, self programmable, to automate any project I might build. So I'm stepping off into a new realm of projects, software and hardware. My other big interest being trains, my current projects tend that way: railroad signals and signalling; railroad interlocking plants (I'm currently struggling with classic mechanical interlocking, re-inventing something from a century ago so that I can understand it.); and Centralized Train Control. ALL of which could utilize a little computerized simplification. So here's a question: Anybody around here interested in any such stuff: R/C cars? Robotics? Arduino? Train signalling and control?
