Hi Guys, My name is Kevin, and I recently got into firefly roughly a month ago. I originally watched the Serenity movie first (rented it) but simply could not get enough of the story and ended up buying the entire season as well as the movie. I eventually; only after finding out that the first TV series that I trully loved had been brutally murdered by fox, started to look for fan-fiction oriented material to fill my lust for the series, and that is how I ended up here. While on the sight I mostly hang out in the Blue-Sun Room reading the many stories available, and eventually (once I figure out how to better format my writing) hope to post a fan-fic that I have been writing!

So I went to the Sci-Fi Expo in Dallas today and met Adam, Jewel, Sean, Ron and some really cool fellow Browncoats! I was a little intimidated by Adam because I've been a fan of his from the start of his career and he looks really great. He was REALLY cool as anyone could expect and friendly. He even shook my hand and asked me my name. I geeked out a little, but not bad. I spoke with Sean and Ron and they both treated me like old friends. I had a great short conversation with Sean about his upcoming project with Joss and Nathan. Ron even messed with me a little bit and we shared a few laughs! Then there's Jewel...WOW. What a sweetheart. I'm a retired military war veteran people. I was putty in her hands and I geeked out! She is my favorite actress and I was like a teenage girl meeting the Beatles in 1967. When she looked at me with that smile, I thought she was going to sprout wings, hover over me and sprinkle me with fairy dust. All I could get out of my mouth in a nervous little voice was "Hi Jewel. Congratulations on your new show. " she said "Aww Thank you" a short pause, and then I replied "okthanksbye." I grabbed my Jewel Staite autograph from her and I was GONE to Sean's line with a quickness. Hopefully at the Star Trek convention in Tulsa or maybe DragonCon, I'm not going to geek out, at least I hope not. She's VERY approachable and sweet to her fans so it should have been easy today. I guess I just got a bit excited and star struck. No big deal. I'm sure she's used to it from time to time. It was still an amazing experience because I'd never met any of the cast before, but for Jewel, I just need to calm waaayyy down. She's a person. She's not made entirely of cream. Do-over coming soon.

Computerguy said I can have my computer back next week or even this weekend as he has a coupla days off from work. And I still have to pay not a cent, yay! And as soon as the quicksnap is full and dropped off for developing,I will finally post the promised pics of the candles I decorated for the Bloomington Backwoods Bash in Indiana this fall. Not able to deliver them personally this year, unfortunately.... *sniff* In the meantime I go up to the horsebutcher round the corner and see how much the steaks are... (and making some wishes and fries....) (oh look, plotbunny... it likes the 'wishes and fries'line...) :) Thats all for now... y'alls Dorkfish :D

Hello Ya’ll! Hey, I’ve been gone from the site for a while, but I remain diligent in my quest to see that we get more FF in the future. I’m hoping fan-fiction and fan artwork from every loyal browncoat on the planet will convince someone out there (someone with money) that Joss’ space adventure should return to tv. That being said I do have other interest other than Firefly. One being in expressive Science fiction adventures in general. I am about to submit an off-topic bit of fiction called “The Thing : Reanimated”, and yes it is a fan driven story arch that continues “ The Thing” plotline. John Carpenter’s “The Thing” will forever remain a favorite of mine and it is a movie that I can almost watch over & over again. Windows, Childs, Palmer, McReady and all the others made that show one of the all-time best Sci/Fi flicks ever IMO. Just like Firefly… it was not only about the dramatic and stressful situation that people find themselves in, it was also character driven. Then came “The Thing 2011” prequel. I actually like this movie. Went to see the theater to see it, and got my dvd copy several days ago. Since that time I’ve watched it a few. My hat’s off to the writers for addressing every main concern from JC’s movie, and Doc’s & McReady’s venture to the Norwegian camp. As difficult as it is to come up with an original story, it’s nearly as difficult to weave into a story-arch so well established. My fan-fic will pic up where Kate Loyd ended her adventure. Just as a heads-up, if you haven’t’ seen “The Thing 2011” then you’ll likely be lost trying to follow this story. As always I’m open to theories and opinions no matter what, and if you want to say or ask something before I post the fic (Sunday or Monday) I’m ready to listen & answer if I can. Also my latest FF fan-fic “Trigger Finger” chapter 3 is about 2/3 complete. Hope to be finishing it soon too. As always, stay loyal to the FF cause, and WE HOLD! See ya fellow coats! ZBP

I have been persuaded to enter my company's version of Mastermind, the quiz where you answer a minute of questions on a specialist subject, and then another 90 seconds of general knowledge. They asked what my specialist subject was going to be ... and I didn't even think twice. "Firefly," I said. What a perfect excuse to watch the boxset again! And again. And again. Oh, and the person setting the questions has been googling, and she says it's a very interesting subject, so perhaps here's a browncoat in potentia ... Anyway, the quiz is at the end of March, so wish me luck! :stupid:

Well after a long delay caused by my mother being admitted to the hospital I have started writing my fan-fict again. One thing I was wondering is how you guys would feel about the utilization of flashbacks?

Well, guess what? I'm now officially a published author. As in, wrote something, got paid for it, and now it's published in an honest-to-goodness magazine. But before any of the celebrations get too wild, I should explain...I was asked to write a book review for a magazine of interest to people in my profession, which is music. The (small circulation) magazine hit the stands this week, and my own personal copy just arrived in the mail. Cool, huh? Honestly, it's a bit of a thrill, as I haven't published anything since scientific articles back in pre-historic times, and articles and liner notes for my own CD's (these are technically self-published, so it's not quite the same). But, yeah, they actually contacted me and asked for a few hundred words, to be submitted on a deadline. After writing a few hundred thousand words of Firefly fanfiction, I thought, how hard could this be? so I said yes. And really it wasn't hard at all -- the hard part was keeping it to *just* a few hundred words. I've already accepted the next book review commission. And writing the fanfic has definitely helped me improve my writing in general. Thanks to the readers and commenters here at Fireflyfans, for all the positive feedback that's made me more confident in my writing skills. And getting paid? Well...let's just say I won't be quitting my day job and living on my writing income any time soon.

Its been well over a year since I have really looked at this site. I must say I have missed it. I moved to Colorado and didn't have working Internet, then I got a job that keeps me too busy to check out the new fics and pics and what not. I did get to see Serenity on the big screen, we had a midnight showing in Denver close to Christmas. I hope everyone has been well and I look forward to catching up on a years worth of fanfic. Stay Shiny~
