Inara: I'm sure I've heard that said. But… perhaps the dining area isn't the place for this sort of thing. Mal: What do ya mean? It's the only place with a table big enough. Inara: Of course. In that case, every well-bred petty crook knows that the small concealable weapons always go to the far left of the place setting. . . . [Inara departs. Mal melodramatically draws his gun.] Mal: Bwah. [Inara answers Nandi's vid-transmitted appeal.] Inara: It sounds like something this crew can handle. I can't guarantee they'll handle it particularly well, but… Nandi: If they got guns and brains at all. Inara: They've got guns… . . . [After Inara signs off…] Inara: I suppose you heard most of that? Mal: Only because I was eavesdropping. . . . Inara: I'll contact Nandi at once, but you will be paid. I feel it's important that we keep ours… strictly a business arrangement. Jayne: Don't much see the benefit in getting involved in strangers' troubles without a up-front price negotiated. Book: These people need assistance. The benefit wouldn't necessarily be for you. Jayne: That's what I'm sayin'. Zoe: No one's gonna force you to go, Jayne. As has been stated, this job is strictly speculative. Jayne: Good! Don't know these folks, don't much care to. Mal: They're whores. Jayne: I'm in. Inara: Nandi, this is Malcolm Reynolds. Nandi: I appreciate your coming. Mal: Well, any friend of Inara's is a strictly businesslike relationship of mine. . . . Okay, so to start, I've been a little blocked in the writing lately. While expressing this to my Dad (also known as Dadoo), he said he'd been thinking about what could happen in the sequel to "Serenity." I said, "sure, Dadoo, let's hear it." And he told me the outline of "my" current piece - The Reunion. Given that Dadoo is a canon-only-fan, I listened happily as he told me what he thought happened years after the movie ended. We argued on some points (turns out my father doesn't like Inara's character at all and she didn't appear in his telling of the story. when I asked about her, he said "oh, she went back to wherever" and I repeated line-for-line her last conversation in "Serenity," he said "well, okay if you want to include her...i guess, she could...") and since I ADORE the Mal/Inara romance, I decided to make that a bigger part of the tale. We also discussed River - who I always find a challenge to write - and agreed that because in the Visual Companion to "Serenity," the shooting script gives vague notions that River might be on the mend suddenly, and Joss says in the cast commentary that when she vomits after seeing the hologram, it's a catharsis...I decided to keep her a little on the loopy side and a little on the sane side...but still odd. So...all that being said...I hope you will forgive me my rusty writing, the slightly-sane River moments and the absence of Inara. I missed her in writing this. But I still hope you enjoy it.

So, I've got this OC named Foreman, and he's a shape-shifter. That's awesome, but I've hit a snag as regards the science behind his ability. Right now, the idea is that he can alter his molecular structure, but when he morphs into somebody smaller, like River, or a young child, where does all that extra mass go? And how does he get it back when he reverts to his regular form? Now, I could follow WoonSocket's idea in the comments on Starfall - Chapter 2 and make his ability a telepathic one, as in, he projects mental illusions, or maybe he could project optical illusions. Making the change wouldn't be that big of a deal. What do you all think?

Wolfie09 is my character Ri's Friend Sasha. Ri hopes she will become more then friends though. So i have been talking with the person who controls Sasha in hopes that maybe Sasha and Ri could have a chance with each other. I've finally caught up by posting the stories from my fanfic LJ over here. And I'm happy that it's come to that place with 'She'll Fly True,' which I just realized is my longest Firefly fic (even though it's still a one-shot). I keep hoping that a multi-chaptered Firefly idea will hit me up side the head, hard and unsubtle as a Jayne punch.

Do you ever get into a funk where you just don't want to watch [i]Firefly[/i] or [i]Serenity[/i], even if you had the time? Because I'm in one, and it's kind of weird. I was never one of those Browncoats that watched an episode every week or even month, but it's been more than a few months since I've watched anything, and I feel like I should want to watch them, but I don't. It's not a big deal - I need to be focusing on my schoolwork, anyway. Mostly I just wanted to put a new blog up to replace the last one, and I didn't want to just babble nonsensically about my life, because that would have gone on [b]forever[/b]. :smile:

So the himself decided not to pay january support. One wondered why, but reported it to the attorney and went on ones way. Well TODAY I was served with a summons. he wants to have the support reduced because he has a new job at 'substantially less pay" which mind you is still $400 a month MORE than I make with the 2 jobs AND the child support. Then in the court documents he references a truck payment he has to make. This would be the truck that he bought AFTER he sold the one my mom had paid off and the court had said he had to repay. The he puts that he spends approximately $800 a month for food for 3 people and has to pay a mortgage and a second mortgage. He acts like he is the only one paying those bills and like the new wife is not working and then he reference a life insurance policy he is paying on HER 21 YEAR OLD KID! All this in the same week I find out that #2 needs SUBSTAINIAL dental work to the tune of oh about $3000. bucks SOMEONE SHOOT ME NOW!

I received this new novel by Peter V. Brett a couple days ago from Del-Rey for review and so I decided to sit down from my few months being a mom to read it. I was so glad I did. The Warded Man is an intense ride that begins with the lives of three young children that through different diversities survive to fight on in a world where just the corelings or demons aren't the only things that should be feared. In this well written novel, you will meet Arlen, Leesha, and Rojer, each set on their own path by tragedy or by the evil of others. Their journeys are all thwart with different types of danger from One Armed demons to the evil of greedy men. Each one will have you wrapped around their stories as they pull you from the world you know into one that nights are feared and demons roam only to take you into that darkness never to return. The Warded Man is a well put together novel. With intense actions scenes that do not rob from the brilliant dialogue, the beautiful, yet, horrifying imagery literally engulfs you in a world that is filled with mountains, deserts, wall cities, and small villages. Each chapter brings you deeper into the shadows filling your mind with visions of small fire demons to the large stone ones. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves good fantasy and great action. It is a bit on the dark side with some violence to kids as well as to grown ups so please use discression when looking at it for kids younger than sixteen or so. Other than that, I implore you to give Mr. Brett a chance. I know I will be reading the next in his series for sure.....

Hi there. I've been lurking for awhile and thought I would say hi finally. The name is Robyn and I come from the wonderful land of Ohio. Okay, maybe not wonderful at the moment since it's been a crappy winter. I discovered Firefly a year ago after seeing Serenity on HBO. Ever since than, I've been a huge fan. I wish I could have watched it live when it first aired but unfortunally that was my last semester in college and any free time I had I was sleeping. Bad enough I had billions of VHS tapes of Buffy episodes to catch up on. So anyways, just wanted to say hi. So hi! :smile:
