Belive it or not, I was really just introduced to firefly about 6 months ago[ I know, where the Hell have I been!!??]and was totally blown away by it. It was the story/show/cast/characters that I have been waiting so long for. To find it then lose it all in one day was one of the most bittersweet moments of my life, go figure. It seems to me a true crime that this show was canned in favor of your usual mind numbing rubbish that makes up so much of primetime T.V. Not to mention how spectacular the movie was! Have so many of us been brainwashed by network television that the pure genius of FireFly and Serenity go on unnoticed by the general populice?! I belive that we Firefly Fans possess a level of intelligence above the average drooling, mumbling watcher of mediocre, insipid programming that allows us to get, truely get, Firefly.

 I rented Firefly on a whim from netflix and the next thing I know I am addicted. I bought both the DVD set and movie within the week and that is rare for me. I now watch one of them at least once a week. It is so addicting.

What a weekend! Friday night I was at my grandmother's for our bi-weekly card game. Saturday was cleaning and D&D, peppered with a good handful of Yeungling Lagers of course! What a night that was. Sunday was the other grandmother's birthday party. So Kaele's bushed. I apologize to those who are waiting for a new fanfic installment. It is on its way, and I DID do some planning and plot development with my brother in the car as we drove. Now what IS a Blue Sun executive doing on Serenity?

If I had a nickel for every one of these personal blog things I've used...I'd have...25 cents... Anywho, I finished up episode five of my season two of Firefly. It's just sitting on my computer, waiting to be given a cursory read through/edit, because I haven't the time for anything more complicated. I haven't posted it because it's actually a two parter, and I thought it wouldn't be fair to post on a cliffhanger. So I'm working through episode six as well. I will say that episode five has been the most irritating one I've written so far. In fact, they just seem to be getting harder and harder. But man, I had to rewrite episode five so many rutting times! There's just too much that goes on in it, but all of it's necessary so...argh! Not to mention it's heavy on the gravity, and trying to interject humor in this one's a pain. Sometimes, I think I just want to give up on this two-parter and do the slightly more lighter stories. *sigh*

So, who caught the Oscars last night? As usual, I was sorely disappointed in the Academy. However, I did feel very, very shiny to see that Star Wars: Sith Happens didn't even take home the one award it was nominated for, best makeup. I wouldn't have voted for them either, heck the clip they used was of the hideous Darth Mumm-Ra that somehow replaced the Emperor. Take that Lucas! On a brighter note, I've managed to finish my seventh Tale for all of your perusal. This time, it's Inara's turn. It's not exactly a fun little story, but there is just a wiff of Mal/Inara in there for you 'shippers. Personally, I greatly enjoy the two of them, and look forward to writing them more in the future. So please, read and comment away!

SciFi Channel will run a Firefly marathon on March 10th. This is an excellent recruiting opportunity, so please, tell everyone you know! 11th Hour is helping out by providing some very shiny posters with the March 10th info on them:

Okay, I decided to continue my imaginary second season. Episode 2 has the first 3 installments written, but my internet access is limited at the moment, so I'll get them on here when I can...

I'm visiting a friend (whom I've managed to convert to FF fanhood in the last 24 hours  ) and all my picture files are at home so I can't work on any of my collages and she doesn't have a scanner so I can't post any of my drawings. GIIIRRRRR!! :pissed: At least I have someone new to enjoy the show with.

So, I was cruising the topics the other day and someone had mentioned in one something about (and this is not a direct quote) "a true fan would have the visual companion" and that got me to thinking...Am I less than a true fan because I do not have all the "required" gear? But what is "required"? An undescribable love for the verse...check Actually watching the BDS and BDM...check Knowing characters...check I think everything else is whipping and a cherry on top of the ice cream. Why do some people seem to think that "only the true fans" have spent gobs of money on items. Let's face facts, if I had the money I would buy everything Serenity related I could, but I don't. But I still consider myself a fan. And I think anyone who has managed to find themself in the mindset of the verse, regardless of whether they made it this far, is a fan. So, did I take someone's missaid line out of context? Sadly, I wish it were so, but sometimes you do have snobs. But hey, if you ask me, the more the merrier, and if you can educate anyone, hey it's all for the good cause. Rae Thanks to anyone reading this. These are just my museless thoughts. Or perhaps you are my muse. My desire to share my experience of Serenity. Gods, what is it about this that makes me so passionate. I really need to get a boyfriend. Misplaced lust. Has to be.
