hey everyone. I may not have as much access this week as I usually do. I am still working on group work for a project, so I am away from my computer during most of the work day. To add to that, my home computer froze on me 3 times on Saturday (I am sorry for suddenly disappearing in Haven Merri-doll and Rose-doll), though it did work last night without any problems. I don't know if it will keep working or not, so I may not be around much. To the barflies, imponderables/water drinkers, Forsaken, 76th troops, and any others (such as all the shiny people in FFF chat that I never talk to anymore :crap:), I love and miss y'all and hopefully will be able to get on/try to catch up at some point this week. EDIT: I removed one Trojan horse and 6 Trojan horse installers from the computer last night, and it worked ok for the rest of the evening. Around 2 or so I woke up and noticed that it was frozen again, and when I reset it, it kept saying it couldn't find the boot disk :crap:. I'll play with it more today, hopefully I can get it to limping at least. ~jimi

I think I got a convert. I bushwhacked 'em with a YouTube video, (Rob Zombie/River - Living Dead Girl) They so want to see 'Serenity' now, but I said series first, or it won't make sense... Anyhow, I am now trying to be a Writer. I've been re-reading my original stuff (non-FF) and cussing the flatness, the poverty of style, the grammar...you get the idea. It's Block Time. But at least I've been in the warm, at my own desk, with all my reference books to hand. And no bloody customers. It's a bit of a scary leap, actually. You guys have all been great on the feedback/discussion front, so I thought it was worth the gamble. Of course, I now have to come up with some fresh and original ideas, and dress them all in sparkling prose. No more ripping off random elements that amuse me, and tying them up with obscure literary jokes. (Mind you, it got Terry P started, so maybe it's worth a shot.) The cosmic oddness that is my fic writing will still continue, though. It's a good outlet for all the ramdomness that won't shoe-horn into anywhere else. After all, it started as a means of clearing mental blockage, before it became an obsession. And nobody else will let me make puns in Mandarin. Third time the charm on the new house front, with any luck. This one is old-fashioned, but it looks in good nick and nobody has done anything odd to it in the way of dodgy conservatories, random extensions or 'features'. It's done out like a grandparental home, but apart from the truly scary carpet in one room (psychadelic orange swirls...'Miranda'...) it has potential. And a nice large study.

Hey All I tried to make this a thread, but no one was responding. Figured a blog would work better. Yesterday, I saw the trailer for this new movie that won't be out until late September this year (actually the same weekend SERENITY came out two years ago) that caught my interest. It's this movie called ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, and no it's not a sci-fi movie. It's a coming of age in the 60's movie that being described as sort of a Beatles musical. Here's the link to it.

Woo. It's freezing outside. Actually, it's below freezing. Around -1 F. Cold! So, I woke up early. Not cool, but I got to do it. Got all ready for class. Drove downtown. Get their early. And then wait for class to start...and it's cancelled. -_- AHHHHHHHHHHH. I drove in the freezing cold. Walked from the parking lot. Which isn't that far. but it was so cold and windy that it felt like the took a long time. I need to move somewhere warm. Haha. Like Arizona or..or...I don't know. lol Somewhere. Eventually. After i get a good job, and a Big and maybe a dog. :-D

I'm four fifths of a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor (Office 2003). The only thing standing between me and that fancy certificate is one exam - Excel Expert. To be a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor, you need to pass five exams - Word Expert, Excel Expert, PowerPoint Specialist, Access Specialist and Outlook Specialist. I did the other four exams last year and passed them all first time as they were all subjects I love. Unfortunately, I don't love Excel Expert. It's not a subject I teach and never one I was comfy with, so I didn't do it at the time, figuring I'd study it and do the exam later. And I did study... sometimes... but as people who observe my pathetic lack of posts know, I *don't* have a lot of spare time. So I just never got around to teaching myself the subject fully and doing the exam. I actually took three days off last week to study. Except it was also my birthday last week, so study didn't happen. I had until April to do the exam. Or so I thought until this morning, when my boss said she's submitting paperwork for the IT centre by the end of the week and needs me to complete the exam by Friday.

FLAME

Because I'm the coordinator of the Raleigh "Can't Stop the Serenity" screening, Cedric of the Bedlam Bards contacted me and asked me if I would work out the details for their appearance in Raleigh Saturday April 21, 2007. They will be doing an East Coast tour this spring. In return, the Bards will generously donate a portion of the proceeds from their show to Equality Now via our CSTS shindig (which will be June 21, 2007, by the way!). We will also be having a raffle during the show, and all money raised by the raffle will go to Equality Now.
