My old beta is MIA and I need a new one. I have a fic ready for Beta reading and I'd like to get it posted. Here are a few of my quirks. I usually have good ideas but sometimes they need refining. Most of my writing is non canon because I mainly write Mal's Ma and young Mal before the series. We know very little about how Mal Reynolds was brought up and I have definate ideas about it. For some reason Meg Reynolds (my name for Mal's Ma)and her story have invaded my brain and I find it easy to write her. Maybe it's because I'm a mother myself. I don't know. I have tried Mal/Inara and I find it very very hard to write Inara. The back and forth banter is difficult to capture and Inara is something of a mystery. If I knew why she decided to rent the shuttle maybe it would be easier. I love run on sentences. I swear I'm trying to change but it's hard to be an editor of something you love. I also have a tendancy to go off on tangents. This verse is just so interesting and I love to explore it. My mind just races and sometimes it ends up on the computer screen. If think you could help me, please let me know. I have a short fic about 3/4 completed and I'm itching to get it out of my brain.

Hey there – I can’t believe how much I enjoyed the writing process during the creation of Underground. Now that it is all done and posted I am thinking of new ideas for great stories. I am thinking of a series of shorts examining how each of the characters would respond to different situations. For example going skiing or vacation at the beach, being inundated with a handful of children or seniors, or having all the communications equipment give out. I don’t know, but it seems like a good way to stretch my skills as a writer and focus on characterization, point of view, plot etc. So any ideas of a crazy situation you’d like to see our BDH’s thrown into? Let me know.

Woohoo! I did it. "Congratulations, you have been admitted to Ohio State!" Things are looking up. My hard work has paid off, finally.

IT IS HOT!!! No thermometer to speak of,but, by how fast I'm dehydrating, it's damn close to one hundred degrees hereabouts (As opposed to 90 yesterday). On top of that, I made a pointless pilgrimage to the Island 16- I just learned that it is a thirty minute walk. And the path there, it's a [i][b][u]fucking desert[/i][/b][/u]!!! Went to see if there was anything left on a card that I got last Christmas. Wasn't. And, here's the kicker for [i]that[/i]- if the movie I saw with my uncle last month ago hadn't already started (which made it pitch black), so we couldn't find a seat, we had to get the Directors Hall viewing- three bucks a seat for... what? Leather seats and a menu that NO ONE ever orders off of. So no movie. If it sounds like I'm bitching too much, then... sorry, but I'm finding it hard to care. -Danny

And apparently it only cost £312.43 after deductions - a bargain! (That means I got my first ever paycheck in the mail today.) Yes! I, Bellona, have fallen from the noble ranks of the slackers and joined the world of work! True, I'm only a lowly part-time cashier in a betting shop. And I'm treated like a dogsbody because I'm a student. And I have to get up at 8 o'clock some days (hey, I'm a teenager - if it's still light out, it's early!). But, I don't have to work with or serve anyone I know from school and that's ALWAYS a good thing. Admittedly, I would like something more challenging than sitting on my rear, tapping buttons and counting change all day. But you take what you can get, right? b

Yesterday, I went to a zoo for a end-of-the year school trip. Place had pretty decent animal care, a black-maned lion, some tigers, a beaver...and a bear named Bonkers, who once co-starred in a BtVS episode called 'Pangs'. This guy named Otto was feeding him. Thought it was worth mentioning.
