This is shameless self promotion. I just posted my first ever fanfic in the BSR. It's called Lost Souls. Please go read it and tell me what you think. I'm new at writing fic so please leave lots of comments. I'm so excited and proud of myself for finishing part 1. I'm just buzzing about it.

Misinterpretations...
Friday, 24 March 2006 00:57:09

So, the first time I watched Serenity (the pilot), I misheard the conversation at the dinner table between Simon, Jayne, and Kaylee. Here's how I thought it went... Jayne: Kaylee just wishes she was a gynecologist. ... Jayne: It's not my fault she gets all lubed up about some big city dame... The first time I saw Inara, I thought "Oh! This must be the big city dame!" When it became obvious (some time later- Mal's comment about servicing crew in the Train Job didn't help any) that their relationship was nothing more than a friendship, I just chalked the comment up to Jayne's social inabilities. I saw the pilot episode many more times, and each time I heard the same thing. It wasn't until recently, when I was watching the commentary with the English subtitles (the best way to watch commentary to episodes you haven't seen recently), that I realized that the social inabilities lay with me and not Jayne. Yeah, I felt dumb. Has anyone else similarly misinterpreted something on the show?

Browncoats Unite!
Friday, 24 March 2006 01:45:17

We may have another Browncoat in the making! One of my close friends came up during her vacation and is staying with me. She is sixteen and from PA so it is nice when I get to see her, me being up in VT. Anyway I have shared with her my love of Firefly for months now and finally she gets to see what I have been going on about. We started the DVDs earlier in the week and now we are up to Heart of Gold. When we finish the series I am putting in Serenity. Introducing the BD heroes to someone else is an honor and a priviledge and its fun too. Her fav characters are Kaylee, Simon and Wash. I can't wait to see her reaction to the movie (not to mention the sadness when Wash meets his untimely demise) I was hoping she would see what I saw when I first met Serenity and her crew. There is a deep bond, a fight for freedom, family and survival and love that speaks through a battered Firefly class ship to the rest of us. Those that feel it, embrace it whole hearted are proud to wear that dusty brown coat.

Wash Must Live
Friday, 24 March 2006 03:53:15

I can not let it be that Wash is dead and gone from the show or any futur shows, I won't let it be true. Like I understand why Joss killed him off in the movie I do but can he not come back? its to lonely out there in the black with out him, who will make the witty remarks? who will take care of the plastic dinosaurs? and who will make love to Zoe? I would if she couldent kill me with he pinky. But i can not see any on else sitting in that chair beides Wash and if there was futur shows i would watch all of them because i will always love the show but if Wash is gone i think you are taking a huge chunk of the show with him WASH MUST LIVE!!

Re-light that FireFly
Friday, 24 March 2006 04:04:26

One thing I would love to see is more episodes of FireFly I am sure every one on this site would want that but I am in constant fear it will not happen. I keep thinking that the characters would not have the time or heaven forbid even want to do more shows of Firefly mostly because since the release of the movie I have seen alot of interesrt in them from other movies and shows I keep thinking that the movie may have been the end and I hate to think that beacuse a world without Firefly is to sad. I just cant stand to think that the story is over because there is to much to tell still so someone tell the networks to get off their ass get the lighter fluied out and lets relight this thing!

Viva Italia!
Friday, 24 March 2006 06:11:13

I'm going on spring break, to Italy, for a week. YAY! I leave in like 6 hours, but I couldn't go without leaving a goodbye blog to all my fellow browncoats. I will miss you guys, and I will definatly miss this site. I probably won't have access to a computer while I'm there, so I'll have to suffer through fanfic and message board withdrawls. But it's Italy, so I think I can survive. I hope everyone has a great week, cuz I know I'm going to  . Ciao, Mandy AKA ShinyGeeket

About the other day
Friday, 24 March 2006 07:43:15

You all know what's really funny... That boy did end up at my work place. His mom and dad dropped him off about 0945. We had a nice long talk about what he did wrong and what his parents think of what he did. He is on the right track now, on his frist day. Damn I'm good. -Chiefy

for your submission...
Friday, 24 March 2006 17:15:03

I know I said I wouldn't be posting anything, and I'm not really, but I need your help. I just started a web business,I'm NOT asking you to buy,and I need some traffic. All of my family and friends checked it out before I added a counter- so I have a showing of 1(me). I'm not on any of the big search engines yet,so anyone even looking sends me a thrill. I named my alias partly after the website. Sweet serendipity ( serendipity-finding something great by accident) is how I feel about finding the Verse. The website is serendipityagain.com. Itsawash has already seen it and critiqued it. I would welcome any comments you'd like to share. Make sure to see the bottom question on the FAQS page for a Firefly mention. Once again, I'm NOT asking anyone to buy anything!!! I just need to have some traffic and some comments. Please!!!

Electric shredders! Whoot!
Friday, 24 March 2006 20:39:51

We just got a brand new shredder for the house. Whoopeee! Never has recieving junk mail been so exciting, It makes this fabulous obnoxious whirring grinding noise as you feed all of those capitalone invites into it, I want more! MORE! ahem... *cough* But it got me thinkin' Instead of just a boring little trash cans or junk-email folders, we need a virtual shredder for all our internet crapola. Just think of the pleasure derived from watchin that! I'm thinkin maybe something Python-esque, a Gilliamish spam nightmare of all those old essays forced by a giant foot into a sausage grinder, the remnants made into neat little sausages and consumed by a bunch of nuns who eventually flip over on their little branch and reveal their peachy little buttocks to the world. The millitant anti-Bush league could have their own, I won't elaborate on what that would be like. But how great would it be if it had a 'mean-ness' sliding scale, depending on how evil you were feeling that day it could go from 'hey, funny...funky..' to 'whoa, thats just wrong...' And Judging by the popularity of the ranting thread over on talk (next bad day, just go hang out, It's kinda ...cathartic) Some of those setting would be permenantly whacked right up there in Maximum Wrongness. (I know mine would) I suppose there could be the literal version as well, feeding all those phishing letters and Free! Years Supply of Viagra! junk notes into your virtual shredder and watching all those streams of letters and pixels flood forth. Come on, who wouldn't find that satisfying?
