Okay, hands up who would wait 6 months for a 6 inch long peaice of scultured lead? Well, i have been waiting that long for a Hasbro Battlestar Galactica die cast ... thing. I ordered it back in May this year, and i'm STILL waiting. No news, no apolige, NOTHING!!! That and they have the cheek to send me a catalogue 6 months down the line! (which has so many preatty things in, yet theres the big doubt of "will i get them?") Again, no news or whatever, just a sodding catalogue. At this piont i'm pissed off, and yet have no idea what to do. Who can i complain too when i've only placed an order (they havn't taken any money out of my account), or when their e-mails are the same old drivel. Its just really crap, and i'm hacked off with it. If anyone else has had any problems, or knows what too do, please help a fellow browncoat in trouble :crap: Cheers :biggrin: p.s; that, and if anyone knows how i can get hold of a Serenity statue (in the UK), that would be appreciated as well. :biggrin:

I know that some people do, but it doesn't really happen at political rallies and the like. In the 70's everyone was willing to take off their clothes and run around. Hell, Purdue University even had the nude olympics. So what has happened to all the people willing to get naked? Just a thought to ponder!

I got an e-mail today, I won't say from whom, that doesn't really matter, telling me how much he (or she, I don't know which just yet) admired the stuff I've done so far and asked me to be a beta reder. I was so damn blown away that someone should think that much they would want me to read their stuff. of course I said yes, my fingers damn near tripped over themselves getting that e-mail back to the person. Like everyone else, I am doing this for fun, entertaining the vastly fantastic notion that some network finally grows a pair and takes another shot at Firefly, and that joss looks to these Fanfic sites for writing talent (of course I know that's a bunch of crap, but what's life without a few reams......hell without dreams, none of you would be reading this, right?). Obviously, none of us are getting paid (allthough if your read my resposne to the guy in the blue sun room threads thanking the fanfic writers, I guess I did get a little excited about how I figure I eally AM getting paid). We're all just having fun. I'm 38 years old, and once upon a time someone took an interest in my writing, someone whom i respected, and that made a lot of difference for me, both as a writer and as a person, and I hope I can offer the same to this person, and anyone else that asks me. I was really, really touched by this, and all I can say is that i hope i can fulfill this role in the manney that best helps you to be a better writer and a better person

just wanted to mention, and you know who you are, there was no depiction of rape or sexual abuse in "A River Taken." I personally don't believe in graphic depictions of such, I feel that the imagination is infinitely more graphic than my keyboard ever could be. I have always thought that the original Halloween, by John Carpenter, is one of the scariest movies ever made, because there as very little gore, or even sightings of him, until the end (much like the original Alien). Your imagination is what tortured you so much, and my imagination is what gave me so many sleepless nights after seeing Michael Meyers in action for the first time (I was just way too young for the experience!) The point I am making is that I was called to task for not giving a worning about rape or other abuse, but I did not depict it. I let you determine what had happened, and I am willing to bet if i randomly picked 10 of you and asked you to tell me how you envisioned it, I would get ten different enswers, which is precisely what i shot for. However, I did state, in no uncertain terms, that this was a dark and nasty story, and i would have thought that this would be sufficient, being as how I have read plenty of fics out here that were far more graphic. (I remember one with Simon being being raped by a female Reaver, and let me tell you, that was like an anti-viagra). I always saw FF/BDM as something for bright grown-ups, and I am going to write for bright grown-ups, even if it's something fun ( like finding jason Voorhees), and if the caveat says words like dark, nasty, disturbing, or anything like that, please, by all means, expect the very worst. Therwise, hang on and enjoy the ride, I've got a ton of thoughts and ideas I mean to put into words!
