On the Steamer's Vestigial Mode of Time Measurement Based on Solar Cycles

Everybody got me something. Well, almost everybody. But through a countless bunch o' fine birthday wishes, I'm feelin' the love, my friends, I'm feelin' the love. So draws to a close the 28th anniversary of the day my mom went through great pain, as the saying goes.... 'Finding Serenity'. 'Those Left Behind'. Firefly Official Companion, Vol. 2. One more movie or one more TV season and my life will be complete - either that, or a pleasantly vivid dream of River and me celebrating with a dance and a joining of hands. For now I have this whopper of a plot bunny - what would the crew (especially Kaylee) do for Mal's birthday? Would they have the nerve? *cogitate*

Yeah... so I'm weird. What's new?

A week spent with 11 year olds... free. You're a councilor. The promise of spending your birthday ( ) with the same bunch, on a Monday... Also free, but compensated - I'm going to get dinner and a movie, possibly with my bestest friend ever. Yeah, next Monday is my birthday, and I'll be doing that with 11 year olds. So, I get up 7:30-ish... bleh, that's bad enough. Then 11 year olds from 8:00 to 5:00, plus :30 to watch them until they get picked up. *headdesk* Why am I a camp councilor again? So, the real reason I wrote this blog entry was because I just realized something that I wanted to tell you all. You know the whole Barcelona-having-dogs-with-no-noses thing? I thought it was funny before. I didn't realize why, because I was being STUPID and thought of dogs without muzzles. Yeah. *blank stare* I know. It's mildly funnier when I realize that it's probably founded in the joke related to the dog without a nose smelling bad. I didn't realize that I was thinking sans muzzle until I was IN Barcelona. I don't think I saw a dog there. But I did all over the place in Paris. *sigh* Luck of the internet-addicted. Did I mention I have another week with the 11 year olds, and 3 other weeks with children of indeterminable age, probably between 6 and 10? Yeah. Fun! Someone explain this whole "Volunteer 'cos you like it" thing, 'cos I've done it for a while, and I'm still not sure why I'm doing so... :disappointed:

Closer

Iwas just listening to NIN song closer. I'm thinking it would make a great Rayne video. I'd make one, but I lack the knowledge. Hell, I'm lucky I can type!

Beta needed Fic just about ready!
Saturday, 23 June 2007 13:52:03

My old beta is MIA and I need a new one. I have a fic ready for Beta reading and I'd like to get it posted. Here are a few of my quirks. I usually have good ideas but sometimes they need refining. Most of my writing is non canon because I mainly write Mal's Ma and young Mal before the series. We know very little about how Mal Reynolds was brought up and I have definate ideas about it. For some reason Meg Reynolds (my name for Mal's Ma)and her story have invaded my brain and I find it easy to write her. Maybe it's because I'm a mother myself. I don't know. I have tried Mal/Inara and I find it very very hard to write Inara. The back and forth banter is difficult to capture and Inara is something of a mystery. If I knew why she decided to rent the shuttle maybe it would be easier. I love run on sentences. I swear I'm trying to change but it's hard to be an editor of something you love. I also have a tendancy to go off on tangents. This verse is just so interesting and I love to explore it. My mind just races and sometimes it ends up on the computer screen. If think you could help me, please let me know. I have a short fic about 3/4 completed and I'm itching to get it out of my brain.

CAN'T STOP THE SERENITY

So yesterday was my first time to be around fellow Browncoats. It was awesome!!! I met a few people, talked about favorite characters (Jayne obviously for me!) least favorite episode (Bushwacked), favorite episode (Jaynestown, etc. I haven't had this much fun since I went to the last HP midnight book party (and believe me I had WAY more fun with the Browncoats). Can't wait till next year. *sigh* Oh and getting to see Done The Impossible (I hadn't seen it yet) with cute Adam Baldwin hosting it, I think it was one of the highlights of the evening. TO ANY CHICAGO BROWNCOATS: Thanks for making last night wonderful. Hope to see you next year!

BSAStrawberries -- Signal Status Weak

Okay, as some may have noticed, I am obviously not coordinating the awards again this year. In fact, I don't see myself doing it in the future either. I'm not involved enough in Firefly fandom to have read as much as I should among other things. So here's the deal, if one of you has the desire, I have no problem with someone else taking the reigns. Just comment. I've offered on LJ to [a href="
