First, thanks for all the understanding messages/comments I've received about my hiatus. I've only got a week and half left to go, but it'll be a busy one. ...And then I've still got another whole year before college is through. To hell with my masters, I need a break. Anywho... You wouldn't think Metal Gear Solid and Firefly would have much in common, yet somehow I've found a way... One of my projects is working on a Metal Gear Solid film adaptation (which I'm gonna try to seriously pitch, by the way). To update it somewhat, I've borrowed Joss's idea of America and China coming together and the Earth being used up as the backdrop of the story. So I guess, in a way, I'm actually writing a bit of history on the Earth-that-was. Of course, should I actually be successful in pitching this (which would be a gorram miracle that I'm not really banking on) you never heard any of this from me, haha. Wouldn't want to be accused of plagiarism... Good Lord I can't wait 'til summer...

... it was... *coughchokehack* must not... speak.. ill.. of... summer... ok, well know, i guess im actually not violating anything in that SUMMER was great, absolutely awesome. which can't neccesarily be said for the rest of the movie. i mean, it certainly wasn't aweful, just a mite... odd? i dunno, it just wasn't particularly thrillin'. but summer really was spectacular. so you should all make sure you see it. as if you wouldn't already :rolleyes (omg, theres this one scene, something just happened i cant remember what, and someone throws her the car keyes, and she gives him this look- that look alone is gonna be worth buying the dvd. assuming there'll be a dvd)

There's no place, I can be...

I have finally found this site, and it is amazing. I am in the process of watching Firefly through for the 7th time in a row since a good friend turned me on to it a month ago. Taking a break from 'Shindig' to write this and use the chat a bit. There is so much on this site that I want to read. I want to read the fanfics and even eventually write some of my own. ~Jimi

Sheep Sheep and more Sheep
Sunday, 23 April 2006 05:51:41

Once there was a country. It had lots of sheep. There were so many sheep that they over ran the human populas and turnd the countary into sheep farm. The whole countary turn white with sheep apart from a dot of yellow that was a duck the end

There. So I've finally finished the ruttin' lunchbox project, and can move on to other things :) Also, I can finally stop going on and on about it. Updated the thread I started in the Blue Sun discussion room with some advice on making your own, just on the off-chance anyone was interested. Again, much thanks to all the wonderful 'coats out there for the encouragement and advice, and everyone else just for being such a shiny bunch of Browncoats. ('Course now, I've got the bug, and have a couple ideas for Kaylee, River, and Wash lunchbox designs. And Joss, too, 'cause if anyone deserves a lunchbox it's Mr. Whedon :) Anyways, stay shiny everyone. (I really need to find the off-switch to my automated rambling machine...)

Thanks

I just want to thank everyone for their kind comments and feedbacks on the fan-videos I've posted recently. Thanks again! www.faithhopetrick.com

If I had time...

First blog for me (ever!) so not very good at such things. Have been browsing in the Blue Sun room, seen some very impressive work lurking there, and thinking of the 'spoof' fanfic idea I have been rolling around in my brainpan for the past few weeks. Have been watching Firefly a lot again lately (hmm, but when don't I?) and listening to the spoof HPLHS musical "A shoggoth on the roof" and got this wacky idea about a Cthulhu Mythos/Firefly cross where the captain rushes the body of Wash to the small rim world of Arkham in search of Dr Herbert West to reanimate their fallen comrade, and along the way River starts spouting lines from the Necronomicon (which she found in the Tam's library on Osiris) and they run into all kinds of problems on the way. It's completely rough and unformed really, but someone I can't let the idea drop - and since I have no time in the world to write the gorram thing at the moment, I figured I'd at least find a place to drop the fragments of my thoughts were some people might find them. Well that was short, and if you're reading this, I may well have just robbed you of several minutes of your life, but thank you! lol

Chat lurking behavior
Sunday, 23 April 2006 16:54:05

So, I am hanging out on the chat and trying to get Cowgirl's drawings scanned (she is reading a drawing book). For some reason the hp scanning software is not coming up. There is no one on the chat and I just start typing. Well Here is the result: Atilla wilst waiting for my scanning software [11:46] Atilla winsome and unaware [11:46] Atilla of what cause can have made the computer [11:46] Atilla make me feel like a comuter [11:46] Atilla on a journey to who knows where [11:47] Atilla Like a suiter [11:47] Atilla stuck on the sidewalk, looking longingly for THE SOFTWARE [11:47] Atilla TO COME UP

Sighs and Cries

So...my grandmother has cancer. Lung cancer, to be precise. And no wonder, she smoked for 40 years, or so. She's on her second week of chemo (or however you spell it) and has two wigs and 5 hats. It's so weird to see her without hair and happy. She was one of those people who--as much as I adore her--was not happy all that often. Y'know, the type of person who always tries to find something wrong with the food, the place you're seated, the performance, everything. She used to be that way, calling 5,000 times a day and annoying us to no end that even my mom (it's my mom's mom) didn't want to do anything with her anymore. But now...Now that she has the cancer...Well, after the initial shock (obviously), she saw her life in a whole new way, I guess. She still calls, but this time, it's to inform us of how much she appreciates all the gifts and calls form her old friends and poeple at church. She tells me how proud she is (report cards came out last week and school band concerts are happening soon) and how much she loves us. She believes that if she believes hard enough, God will just cure her. If only it could be that simple...Y'know, in some ways, while I'm the teenager, she seems more childlike in her "blind faith." Am I that jaded already that God can't cure everything? Is she more pure because she believes more than I do? I wish I knew the answers to that. I wish that what she believes will happen...With all of my heart, I do. But if I'm being realistic (which doesn't happen too often. Mostly I'm stuck in the 'verse or my writing mind: the place where all my ideas come from, I guess), the chances don't look too good. *SCREAM* Sorry, I just had to get this out. I mean, journals are great for writing and rereading what you've written a couple years later, but in terms of human contact... If there are any Christians, or religious people of any sort, if you could possibly pray for my grandmother...Maybe that's too much to ask. I'm sorry, I don't know the proper ettiquete for this sort of thing. But if you could, please? Thanks for listening to my rambling. I don't know how much or how little to write anymore. *sad smile* Cheers to the browncoats, ~ForeverShiny

If I had time....PART II
Sunday, 23 April 2006 21:51:45

Thanks for your comments - I guess I'm gonna have to try and put some time aside in the coming months and give that lil story idea a go after all. (Have decided on The Shadow out of Serenity as a title - meant to add that into my last blog and totally forgot). Don't have anything else to add at the moment - work, studies and other projects are keeping me firmly rooted in the land of insane busy-ness, but I shall try and get some gorram eldritch doings underway eventually*! Just don't be holding yer breath there. (*And you just know there's gonna be some shiny stygian and cyclopean things there too....) as well as loathesome things to drain your sanity (and I ain't just talking about YoSaffBridge here either...)

Rebirth... Reading Order Thus Far.

Ok... Rebirth. The post-BDM fanfic SoulOfSerenity and I have been working on. Here is the reading order as far as we can tell. Rebirth - Teaser
