Ok i know this is not one of my everyday blogs......but i thought i would put this out there. As some of may know i am a smoker however i have decided after years of damaging my lungs to stop. The main reason am putting this blog up is to ask you all for your support and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you have any tips please share them with me. So far i have went 48hrs without so much as a smell of a cigarette . But i have tried and failed in the past......so i ask the help of my Brown Coat Brothers and Sister to help me beat this deadly habit....many thanks Tennants P.S. will keep you all up to date with my progress

Well that about sums it up. My life needs to change and I don't know how to go about changing it. Generic advice such as "Go to school" is absolutely useless to me. I don't know what I want to go to school for. I have no idea what I should do. Generic encouragement such as "You're so talented and you'll find something" is also useless. Nice, but useless. I might be talented, but I have yet to find something. Any career I feel drawn to is one of those careers that it's very difficult to break into. Frankly, I don't much like the idea of being a starving artist until I get a break. And even those artists who do get a break can still be starving because it doesn't always pay well and it can be a challenge to keep your head above water once you do break into your chosen field. The solution to this problem would be to study something practical. The idea of doing so makes my head hurt. Well, really the idea of going to school at all makes my head hurt. If it didn't take SO long and cost SO much money, I might feel more up to it. If school in gerneral wasn't such a grind for me, I might feel more up for it. If I could be sure that I would feel more fulfilled, I would definitely be up for it. But, since everything [i]isn't[/i] different, I'm kind of stuck in Limbo, wondering what the guay I should do and how I've managed to be creative, smart, in my early twenties, and answering phones for a living :crap:

RIVERISMYGODDESS

Yes, it is the title of my shorter (but completed) fanfic (the one I gave Summer and Alan at D*C last year), but it applies to my life as of this weekend. 4 pm Thursday - Go to work, covering a bartending shift for Crystal, hoping to make at least some decent cashy-money. 8 pm Thursday - Most tips all night, both tables and bar guests, have been weak tea. A young groups sits down at the bar, the guys order large Bud Lights, girl a Diet Coke. I go to get the frosted mugs for the beer and the first one slips out of my hand. My instant reaction is to catch it before it hits the others, while it's instant reaction is to hit the others and break one off in a very sharp configuration. I am instantly aware that I have been cut deeper than I can ever remember, so I apply pressure and hurry to the kitchen, where I almost black out. Amazingly wonderful co-worker takes me to ER, talks and jokes with me through it all, and even manages to take pictures and video on her phone while doc is stitching me up (I am hoping to get copies). Doc was cool too, goofy Scottish looking guy, knew his trade. As stitching was being done, I had my eye on the TV, which had been left on the Lifetime channel from the room's previous occupant. A movie was coming on, and who's name did I see in the credits but our own Jewel Staite! I had seen the movie before (I watched a [i]lot[/i] of Lifetime with Ami, a lot). I went back to work, Heather had taken over bar but Crystal was coming back in. *sigh* I go home and zonk out. 5:30 am Friday - the Yeti is awakened by faithful pet PJ barking and goes to determine source of canine agitation (was sleeping in to take most of Friday off due to hurt finger). Opened the door, "James Spettel?" incomprehensible affirmative noise "We have a warrant for your arrest." I know that we have all heard the line countless times in movies and on TV, but let me assure you that it takes on a whole new context when it is being spoken to you. They let me get dressed and get my contacts in and get my wallet. During this time I asked what the warrant was for, and was told: Terroristic Threats and Acts (felony). I was cuffed and taken to various holding facilities until I could be transferred to the Laurens County Sheriff's Dept (once again). I got there in time to have a bologna sandwich. I was given a bond that day (they said it wouldn't be until Saturday morning), so I called my dad back and let him know. He came and got me right after dinner, which I didn't eat. We returned to Warner Robins, and ate at the Hooters here (the girls aren't as enticing as some of the other stores I have been in, but they have a Red, and I was in dire need of a beer and something fried and tossed in buffalo sauce). I spent Saturday relaxing and most of today in Atlanta, which I will document later, as it is late and I need rest for work tomorrow. I will be around my work e-mail, james dot spettel at robins dot af dot mil, but I might not be on the FFF or the 76th boards until I get off. If something doesn't actually kill me in the next 9 days I will be very surprised. One positive thing I pondered this weekend - if my life ever includes winning it big in a lottery, I have decided that in addition to taking everyone on a Browncoat cruise, I want to build a to-scale replica of our favorite Firefly-class transport. Wouldn't it be a fun place for a shindig?

So I did the blogger thing for a bit. Can't really see what all the fuss is about. Still, it was valuable experience that I can now pass on to my eager students. It's amazing how many people want to learn how to blog. Do I have anything witty or insightful to add to this particular blog? Nope. What I *do* have is a cute little game involving bunnies :D Enjoy!

Ok this is a ramble but I don't care. So here I was staying at one of my best friend's house for a sleepover. Before that for about 2 weeks she wouldn't shut up about this show Firefly, she tried to explain it to me but nothing helped. I have to see something before I decided if it's good or not. I asked her who she likeed, she said "Mal" obviously, and she said that I'd propably like Janye. I was liek who the hell is that, and then when we sat down to watch it, I saw Janye for the first time, and my jaw dropped!. He was amazing, the way he moved, looked, talked, his no care attitude and tough guy persona. He was awesome, and the show was too. So ya my first blog rant yay!.
