You know, lately, I have been visiting this site pretty much every day. That's the way it should be. I put Part II up of Family Ties. Hopefully it meets expectations. I have been neglecting some school work to get this written. I'll finish this one as soon as possible, and maybe start a new one. I'll try doing one that isn't in script format, and maybe more people will read (or like) it. "Right!...'cause teenage pranks are fun when you're about to die!"

SMITH

It's not starting til next year but I'm scared already! I'm applying for honours in literature and am in desperate need of a topic for my thesis. I'm thinking..."Evolution of the Female Hero" so I can trace the origins of all those kick-arse modern gals (such as Buffy, though admittedly she does have her faults). But even so, I'm undecided and getting antsy! Uh...must think calm, soothing thoughts...Mmm, chocolate.

REALLYKAYLEE

this is a true story. no possums or actors were harmed in this real life event. there was a possum in my yard. he had taken up residence in the window well of the study, but had relinquished all authority over his home and now sought to get out by any means. too bad he was 8 feet below the regular yard. now, i had never met a possum until the other day and was quite shocked to see one . . . or at least alive. my immediate thoughts were of firefly. (why? because everything is) anybody reading StA's treasure of lei . . . ? i am sure that that possum is going to be reincarnated as captain mal reynolds in about 500 years. how did we get him out? my mother tied sheets together and threw them down the well and he climbed out on his own that night. little thang couldn't have been more than 7 lbs. i loved him- and i named him mal. *sigh* if only i could be that close to nathan. . . in other news: i had a tea party yesterday with 5 of my friends and my guy friend had his first cup of tea. Lady Grey. YUMMY! it was great fun. "toast and tea, so sweet to me; soo juicy sweet!" also I WORE A SERENITY SHIRT! it was one of the posters i found on the site here. black and white of simon looking sexy with the words "simon says see serenity 9.30.05". people kept asking me if it was an indie flick (what i'm infamous for loving) or if it was foreign (chinese characters were on the shirt too) to which i responded "sort of?" and "it's 500 years in the future and the dominate culture is a mix of chinese and anglo" (he said he'd see it). the shirt plus my jayne hat made me offically the wierdest person ever and i sci-fi friend of mine welcomed me to the ranks of geek-hood. i am honored, truly. i would like to thank fff.net for making that possible. rant rant rant. i apologize for a rather long log. but the opossum story was just to delish!

WERZBOWSKI

Well, I just realized that I hadn't written a blog since June. Not that I really have much to say, but I was bored, so here goes. Family is well, besides the colds we all seem to be passing around. Skiss' pregnancy goes well, and Connor is set to be born on schedule the first week of November. Other than that, it's all same ol, same ol. My fiction has more or less stalled out. I have beginnings for several new installments to both Second Chances, and The Chronicles Of Werzbowski, but haven't been able to get very far past the opening stage on any of them. Wrote a fan letter to Summer, which was hand delivered by Robyn12 (thanks muchly) at the beginning of September. Should be interesting to see if & when I get a reply. I tried to keep it light & original, and somewhat less than stalkerish. :wink: Bit of bad news to pass on. For those of you who know Bags... his mother in law passed away suddenly this past Sunday. If any one has wishes to pass on, I'll be more than happy to do it for you. Well, that's all for now. Guess I did have some stuff to say, whatdya know. -Ski

UNCHARTEDOUTLAW

Okay, I feel like I haven't had loads of time to blog lately. I've a stack of essays staring at me right now and I'm doing my best to ignore them for the time being. But I have to share just how many neat things have happened regarding Serenity and my students lately! Without a doubt, the kids have noticed the Serenity stuff around my room...the poster, the comics, etc. And then the trailers started airing on TV (Simpsons, MTV, Monday Night Football, etc.)! Almost everyday I have at least one student tell me they saw the trailer. Some of them say it looks cool and they want to go see it. Others, not so much. But that's okay. Yesterday one of my sophs mentions she saw the trailer, then four others instantly mention they saw it too. One says it looks cool. Then suddenly the whole class is either asking if they can get extra credit for seeing it or if we can just take a field trip to go see it! LOL So I came up with an extra credit assignment to review the film. Some asked smartly if I wanted the ticket stub, too. And I do...I know teenagers'll sneak into theatres if they can and I want them to spend the money to see it. That way we can get ourselves a sequel!! Today, just as class was ending, two students said they wanted to dress as Kaylee and River for Halloween (they could more or less pull it off) and said I'd make a great Wash, too! :D So expect some neat Halloween photos when that time comes around. I love my students!
