(Not here. It's not here, don't look.) It's autumn here, and getting colder by the day. A long winter is forthcoming, but such is to be expected for one who inhabits the good land of Canada. French Canada, actually. That's right! Born and raised in Quebec! 100% certified frog! How's that? But let's quit babbling about the "around me" so much. Now, we get to the heart of matter. Which would be "me". Only, you see, there's a kinda hitch. As of now, "me" is in a real shady place. Hard to get too, somewhat. Oh we try to keep in touch. Well... I know for certain I do. But, he's one tight-lipped fellow. Taciturn, you might say. Not one for the calling & writing so much. Plus he's a sneaky one, adept at shape-shifting. 'Barely recognize him my own self sometimes. So, until I finaly get a hold of him, I'm afraid we will have to defer the matter. Hey, and you tell me if you catch a sight of him. He's just about 6 feet tall, kinda lanky. 'Likes to wander around in a rustish-red coat. He's notorious for his wild (as in untamed) hairstyle, all long and brownish and curly. That, you really can't miss. So, that's it for today. Have a nice life.

Finally managed to see the Outer Limits episode STAR CROSSED with our dear captain! He is wonderful (as expected) particularly as there's quite a lot of him on display at one point! However, as for the episode itself, as much as I wish I could say I would give it five stars, I can't. It is so obviously a version of Casablanca, with Nathan in the 'Rick - Humphrey Bogart' role ... which in itself is fine ... but trying to shoehorn the story into forty minutes makes it cramped. BUT ... and this is a big but ... there are a few sequences that make it worth it! Won't tell you what they are, but I liked them. BTW, I managed to download it from

Take some Gibson, add a splash of Philip K Dick, a soupcon of Herbert and season with a little Harrison. In a separate container, take a little Ford, mix in some Leone, and a dash of Shaara. Combine elements thoroughly, then garnish with wu xiao, and strain through a mind warped by coffee and too much television. I can see this place so clearly. From the grand and gargoyled facade of the Justice Building in the Central Square on Londinium, to the Star Line shipping out of Aberdeen, to the city of lights that is Sihnon, rooflines of a design old on Earth that Was transplanted under a new sky. Other worlds. A plain that is nothing but a storm of ash under a scalded sky, that was once a living world with a horizon big as freedom. Small, dusty worlds with the heart mined out of them, held together with hope and pride. Worlds where the houses are on stilts, and the people travel the humid swamps on flat-bottomed boats. Cold, green little worlds, and worlds where other moons shine down on deserts, and the skyline is broken by the stark geometric lines of a transplanted history. And everywhere, the people. With the same small concerns that people have always had, spreading out and living their lives. Whether cupping a small bowl of green tea in hands grown cold with early dawn, as you look down from a balcony over quiet valleys, or grabbing a bowl of noodles from the stall on the corner by the el, ready for another day of cubicle hell before you can get out to the park. Or sitting in the pilot's chair of a battered little ship, looking out into the starfield. All these worlds to play in.

Wow, I really oughtta update this thing, huh? DragonCon rocked, the 76th showed ourselves in force, and I met loads of wonderful Browncoats in person that I didn't get to spend enough time with. More later. Maybe.
