RIVERFLAN

Well, I just was letting my mind wander (yeah, its dangerous, but I was bored) when this poem suddenly spang out from nowhere. I don't know what to make of it, but here it is: It was a stormy night When the werewolf cried; It sounded through mountains And into the sky. The howl chilled Everyone's bones; It was a feeling We could not condone. So into the rain We dashed and we ran; Untill we were stopped By a giant mustard can. What do we do We cried in dismay; Let's head out And search by the bay. So we looked and we looked 'Till we found the werewolf. We threw a lighter at it And also some keys; 'Till the werewolf took off And swam out to sea. Now the werewolf Bothers us no more; But on each stormy night We determindly snore.

REGINAROADIE

Hey All Today I got some unexpected, but really great news. Of the various things that are shooting in Regina, one of them is this $30 million dollar horror flick called WALLED IN starring Mischa Barton, Cameron Bright and Deborah Kara Unger. Well today, I got a call from their production office, and got a job with them. Right now, it's only for the weekend as a security guard. Basically, I'm sitting in my car between 7 AM to 7 PM next to the set that's all the way out in the middle of nowhere, and keeping an eye out in case if someone shows up. Like I said, it's the easiest $300 I'll ever make. And if things go really well, they might just call me back to work a few more days here and there. Hopefully, this won't get in the way of volunteering for the Gemini's next week, and that this'll be the beginning of my career in film. I'm really happy and proud of myself.

STEAMER

I really should oughta say 'books', plural. :wink: 'Cause an ending ain't all I've thought of. Much to my relief, and excitement, and joy, and other emotions of delight, it looks like my muse has at last gotten its prairie harpy off my boat and gotten me back in the air: I'm finally writing more than a paragraph a night, I have a whole continuity thought out for this story arc, and just now I thought of a name for the story arc. Those of us who are Lord of the Rings buffs (and were before the movies) very well know the adage 'Not all who wander are lost': but suddenly and randomly, I found myself thinking about the rest of the poem from whence that line stems. [i]All that is gold does not glitter Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither Deep roots are not reached by the frost.[/i] And then I thought to myself: Self, it is positively uncanny how well that poem describes the underlying theme of our story arc. Self replied, It damn sure is. And then I went to my documents folder, and I looked at the story arc, and I said: "Now I shall give you a name, and I will call you 'The Old That Is Strong.'" Suddenly I feel a damn sight more excited about this project. And I will probably feel even more so, once my shiny new beta returns notes on the latest couple of chapters. In the meeeeeeentime, I feel to post a couple of excerpts assuming this blog system doesn't crash when I try to post them. Anybody care for a look-see? I brought cookies....

MANIAC

I don't know if this has been posted already, but for those of you who don't already know, Nathan Fillion Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk provided voices for some of the marines and various supporting characters in Halo 3 for the X-Box 360. There is one part in the game where you assist some marines in the mission called "Storm" (before you open a large door to enter a facility) where one of the marines (voiced by Tudyk) can be heard saying "Hey, it's the Chief...Shiny!" upon your arrival. I thought that was really cool. There must be some Browncoats working at Bungie Studios.

ROXYFREEFALL

Well will ya look at that, it's my 1yr anniversary here on FFF. YAY!!! I just love this place so much and all the lovely people who inhabit it. I've met some wonderful friends that I will have the rest of my life and that makes me the most happy. Thank you all for making this year a wonderful piece of shiny, you all are more than words can say!
