ICARUS

This may be VERY off topic, but I'm in the mood for talking about this... I spent about 2 hours online finding out what people's favorite songs are, namely RPG ones, themes and such. I still love the oriental-western blend of Firefly, but many other songs out there capture my interest. You guys have any great songs that should be mentioned? Last two blogs no one replied to, so I'm hoping this one will get more attention... Oh well I'll pop in if enough people talk about it, maybe mentioning my favorites. Toodles!

Hey y'all! Well I'm extremely hyper (still) because last night I got to see Batman Begins. The reason why I'm so ecstatic is not because of the movie (though it wasn't that bad) but because of the fact that I [i]finally[/i] got to see the [u][b]Serenity[/b][/u] trailer. I was so stoked, my friend that I was insane. And you know I feel really good. Like I said in my last post I converted my (now ex) boyfriend and his brother. I also converted his mother and today when I got my fourth DVD back from her I informed her about the movie. She wasn't aware so that was a good moment for me, letting another Browncoat fan know that it actually is going to happen. Anyway, just wanted to let y'all know I'm still alive ;) Catch y'all later.

Let's put aside all the speculation about Serenity's potential for an earlier release than Sept. 30. Regardless of the date, I think I can exhale now. My local theater has the Serenity logo on its website. For those of you wondering why this might be a big deal, try to remember that I live in a small town in western Kentucky. While the nearest theater is only 15 minutes away, it's in a town that wouldn't be half as big as it is if it weren't for the college it houses (Murray State University, Murray KY, for those interested). Murray's got a great little theater, but the "little" part had me a bit worried about whether they'd get Serenity. Of course, the town I work in (Paducah, 40 minutes from home) has a large Cinemark theater which will likely get it, but the seats are uncomfortable, the trailers take half an hour, they've got those crappy Coke and Fanta commercials, etc. In other words, I've been hoping Murray would get it. If you're REALLY bored (or sincrely that interested), go to www.moviesinmurray.com and scroll to the bottom. Be warned, it's a REALLY bad website, but it at least gives you a peek into what my neck of the woods looks like. As of now, it's the only movie on the site that is advertised with a poster/logo. It's also got a countdown. Holy crap. That just flew by me. They've got a rutting running countdown to Serenity on the site! Makes me think there's more Browncoats around here than I've been able to discover ... SHOW YOURSELVES!

SIGMANUNKI

So, I tried to talk to someone yesterday but no-one was there. Thus I sent an email to my former potential supervisor soliciting advice. I haven't got a reply from him yet, but the department chair got back to me. I think that my supervisor might have had something to do with that (he was the previous chair). So, I have a meeting tommorow morning. Although I have presidence on my side, the illogic of the whole situation makes me not willing to hold my breath on the matter. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
