FINALLY after years an YEARS of not having one, I have one! And let the crowd rejoice! It's a weird thing to get used to, but if I want to pass my computer illustration class, I better. I'm currently reading the Serenity Visual Companion. I'm being spoiled, but I don't care, I want to look at the artworks and etc. And the Serenity soundtrack needs to come out eariler than Sept. 27....

I need some BC input

This is not Firefly related but I would like some input/advice/reality check or whatever. I have been having issues with my downstairs neighbor for the last three months or so and i wanted an relatively unbiased opinion. (i know that not having the other side of the story means that a true unbiased opinion is impossible.) Anyways, I moved into my apartment June 2004 my neighbor moved in June 2005. Over the last three or so months she has been complaining of noise. I don't think i am making excessive noise. The only thing i can think of that would make any noise at night are my two cats. They like to play at night. (They are relatively small cats, one weighs 6# the other about 10#) I can't imagine them making all that much noise downstairs. My neighbor and I have talked and she told me that she has Fibromyalgia and that she has trouble sleeping. Okay, fine, I understand that but why on earth if you have this condition would you choose to live in a second floor apartment? So I play the nice neighbor and try to make things quieter, to the point of me sleeping on my couch most nights to entice the cats to play more in that area. It's starting to get old. She has also told me about the guy below her that blares his TV all night long, but "that's okay because he's like 80 years old and deserves to play his tv that loud." Later i got a different story which was that he was an asshole to her about it and she just doesn't want to deal with him. So i'm about to become a raging bitch to her to see if she'll leave me alone too. The real kicker was this morning. I got up to get ready for work at 5:30am, which means taking a shower and leaving. Not long after I start up the shower, she's throwing shit at her ceiling. (which she's done all along when she thinks i'm making to much noise. I'd hate to see her ceiling.) I'm sorry, i don't think taking a shower falls under excessive noise but i think throwing things at the ceiling does. I'm just at the point where this is going to be my reaction to her next time: :finger: This post probably didn't make much sense and i know i forgot a lot, but i'm just failing to see where her condition(part of which is being hypersensitive to noise) is my problem and I'm tired of her trying to make it my problem.

Spreading the word of Serenity any way I can

My Canadian Literature prof is... unusual. I had my first Can. Lit. class today and the first thing she asked the class to do was arrange the desks into a "u" shape. Now, I haven't sat like that since elementary school. Then she asked us to make name tags. Granted it was so she could learn our names but then she asked if she could take our picture to help make the name learning easier. It was a little weird. But weird in a cool sort of way. She's different and that's nice in a prof. So being different means new things. I just discovered this orientation thing I have to do before the weekend. The first half asks that you reply in the discussion board and that's obviously not going to be an issue for me. The second half is to make a little homepage about yourself. This can be done with this on-line thing called "Blackboard". It's not a real webpage but the class, and maybe the whole campus, can see your profile. So I took the opportunity to spread the word of Serenity. I tried not to sound too geekish, but now it's known class wide, and possibly campus wide, that I'm a geek. Bah. Who cares. I briefly mentioned that Serenity was coming out at the end of the month and uploaded an icon I had made of River. I took the image from the Australian poster so she looks scary. Hopefully people will actually do this assignment, see my page, be intrigued by River, and decide to check out Serenity. I can dream, right?

Picked up my S:AAB DVDs. Kinda Pissed

The first episode was great, you got to love that the 58th's drill sergeant was the guy from Full Metal Jacket. But after the opening credits on the second episode the video and audio froze then the screen went black with green text telling me that the disk needs cleaning or is scratched. I look closely at the disk and there is a bunch of pinprick sized air bubbles in the disk. Shitty copies figures! :disappointed: Well I’m going to watch all the disks to make sure they are good then go back to Best Buy to exchange the bad disk, and I’m going to visually check the disks in store because this sucks. Oh before I forget on the DVD menus they have the Babylon 5 station on the left hand side. WTF?

Am I just hearing Firefly *everywhere*?

I was watching a rerun of Cheers (it's 2am... what ELSE is on?) and Norm was having a heart-to-heart with Sam. They were talking about Norm being tempted to have an affair on Vera and Norm admitted that he would never do that. His line: "I mean, I have urges, sure. But if I acted on them, I'd be no better than a rutting pig." Now, rutting is used like it's SUPPOSED to be. A rutting pig is a pig in heat and it's probably the origin of the curse on Firefly. Still, as soon as he said it, I pictured Jayne saying it: "No better'n a ruttin' pig." That just amused me at 2:30 in the morning ;-D
