i had this wicked dream last night... i can't tell you what it was. my dreams are always so involved, with plotlines and so on, character development and everything. most of the time they're crazy, post-apocalyptic fun. but sometimes... i love it when i have dreams like this. they just stick with me all day.

Well, the Bryn Mawr show had to be missed. I did all that work to promote it and sent out a bunch of e-mails (which for Ben's sake I hope it worked!), and *I* was the one who couldn't go! Hubby was freaking out all day long, worried that I'd take the car and just drive, the weather be damned. But I couldn't do that to my babies (five and one). Hubby has no parents, and I could never ever risk my life driving through that in my itty Toyota. My kids need their mommy. I am now trying to convince myself that Ben'll definately do another showing. This time, it'll be a huge blow-out. Time to write my check and send off that letter since I couldn't go. I think I'll work on that tomorrow. Opened the back door this morning to almost 2 feet of snow. Choosing between driving in that and hitting the Shindig was a wrenching decision, but it needed to be done. Our beloved Captain cuts his losses too sometimes. --- Got a neat surprise today. A friend of mine who's at Penn State and usually sits in the D&D group with us has been a closet Browncoat since the summer! I was so excited to hear that he loves the show too. His only regret was that he wasn't able to dress like Mal for the Serenity debut. Someone I know who I didn't have to recruit. I'm just loving it! I finally have someone to chat Firefly with. --- Firefly fix: Since I missed the BDM, I watched it at home. All by my lonesome.

I'm in the very beginnings of a move from Iowa to the Bay area (I'm hoping to get an apartment in the Bay area, in Pacifica: close to the ocean). I am not looking forward to selling the stuff I can't keep, and packing all the stuff I will keep.... It is a huge job and I'm not really up for it. I guess it is one of those 'one day at a time things', and it WILL pay off... eventually.

My family and I celebrated V-day a little bit early, partly because we won't be together on Tuesday and partly because none of us have a decent place to hide the chocolate, lol. Since none of the men in the whedonverse have responded to my declarations of undying love and devotion, I don't have a Valentine this year. And I've decided that I really don't care. Coupling be damned, I'm loving this whole single college student thing! Screw this lovey-dovey go-seh. Okay, done ranting. I swear I'm not bitter, this is just a result of watching the multiple romantic comedy marathons on today. Still, I will be very happy when this "holiday" is over.

the X-files used to be my fav series till Firefly came along. I always used to try and spot X-files characters in anything I watched - now I do it with Firefly characters. has anyone spotted any crossovers? the biggest has to be Adam Baldwin in two episodes of Seasoon eight (called the truth) where he played either a supersoldier or an army informant on the supersoldier scheme (been a while since I watched it). I hate to admit it but I'm struggling to spot any other crosses

Thanks to technology every drawing every vid cap every scanned sketch.. gone. Blame it on the new computer..or the fact that My backs ups weren't up to date...but I turned the new computer on this morning and got nothing...using an old computer now..I suppose I could rescan everything.. But thankfully CBY's package helps recover all that I've posted..which is only about a third of my total stuff..I've got most on cd's somewhere ...but the effort to put them back on is dauting...arghh....so it will be a while before I post any thing new So I'm needing some help here. Anyone knows of a good vidcap site or any or reference material site I would greatly appricate it...lost all my bookmarks too... ps anyone who's sent me requests or messages pls resend them..they were in my messages folder on my email but that seems to be gone also....@!*&!!#@

It got to be my job there for awhile. Pouring very fresh wine and handing the cup to a new Browncoat who had ventured into this vine 'verse of ours. It tapered off in recent months - mainly because I've been awfully busy with school these days - but now I'm making a point to visit here everyday if I can, and see who's posting for the first time. So many are still saying they were converted by the DVDs, others are coming in after seeing the movie and then the DVDs. Every single one has discovered the wonderfulness that is Firefly... well, now! They didn't see it when it was on the air, they didn't suffer the horror of cancellation. They're exclaiming over why this great show was ripped so prematurely off of TV. Like all the veterans did back in the early days. In "The Train Job" Mal said, "I'm thinkin' we'll rise again." I'm starting to believe him.

*COUNTDOWN: 14 DAYS TO SERENITY DVD* So that's my first fanfic completed, and it seems to have gone down well. It's a new experience to be able to write 'THE END' on one of my stories! I left a few threads hanging - Zoe's predicament, for example, and the whole Simon vs Jayne thing - but that's okay: can't tell all the tales at once. And I might want to return to this story arc at some stage, so leaving a few issues open makes sense. :smokin: My original premise for 'New Prospects' was always to have Serenity end up stuck to a doomed freighter, but the Decamerone was originally going to be heading for the sun, a kind of radioactive suicide ship. Also, the character of Ossie Chen was meant to be Badger, but the idea of Niska and Badger teaming up on our BDH just didn't seem to sit right. And anyways, I like Badger, he's a fellow Brit! Creating a new character seemed like the best option. Who knows what Jayne and River did with him in the end? :knife:  It's interesting to me now to look back on segments I didn't use, and wonder where they might have led. I had a sequence where River flips out on Kaylee during their space walk, but by that stage I'd established that River was far more cogent and capable since Miranda, and it almost seemed out of character for her to do that at that point. Similarly, I had Jayne accidentally tear his suit as he exited the Decamerone, at which point Simon clamped his hand over the rip to seal it and then demanded to know the truth about Kaylee's top... but again, it just didn't feel right. Psychologically, Simon was just about coping with his space walk, and for him to suddenly turn all calm menace on Jayne didn't work for me. So there endeth the longest blog I've ever written, and on we go to the next fanfic. Gonna spend a week or two mapping out the structure, and then it's on with the show. Shiny!

I've been offline for a while now. Gotta say I've missed y'all. I've also not written a thing since Thanksgiving! No excuses, no reason, just haven't been on the computer. Maybe it's been winter blahs or something. Now I'm looking forward to catching up on about 3 months worth of stuff here  and finally pulling the threads of my story (Crop Circles) together and getting it finished and posted. It's been whispering at me for a while but now it's starting to whisper threats. :fork: Oh, and I FINALLY got my DVD set back from all the folks my husband has been loaning them to. Yay. Anyway, glad to be back.

Just finished my fifth Firefly/Serenity music video. This one's a look at all of the relationships from Shepherd Book's perspective, set to Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. I tried to use everything I've learned so far about creating videos here, plus some things I learned along the way. I hope everyone enjoys it. Personal Jesus - WMV - 3:51 Two sizes 856x480 - 27.8MB

second installment of newcomer added. The third might be a bit longer than the previous; haven't decided yet. A couple more issues, and I might start working on my real series again, but if the firefly fanfics are popular enough, and I continue to have fun with them, I may continue them.

hm ... I am beginning to understand what some of my friends have tried to tell me years ago. This whole Buffy/Angel thing ... I have watched all 22 eps of the first Angel season now and I enjoyed them immensely. I even started rewatching them right away. And I have lots of ideas for fanfiction which I will probably never write, or if I write it, I will keep it to myself and never publish it, because it is all Mary Sue-ish. Did I mention that I really have a thing going for knights in shining armour? And I am not even the type that needs a lot of rescueing in daily life. Well, but backt to the things that really matter :-) I have just talked to my remote-player for the RPG via Skype for the first time. The connection was not too good and he does not have the newest version yet, so we could not try out the video connection, but still it was good to hear his voice (I had not seen him or talked to him for almost six month now). I mean, we could have used the phone, of course, but that's just not cool. (Did I mention my nerdyness-factor yet? I guess for a woman I rate pretty high, think Daria and then add some nerdyness  ) And I found a fourth player today and another one who will not participate regularily, but wants to join in as a guest player from time to time. This is so cool! I can't wait to get started and have the first adventure already mapped out (secretly plotting and scheming while at work, hoping that my boss never looks into the folders of my desktop PC)

 I just finished up my first session of Serenity the RPG last night. I blew some stuff up, and punched a shepard....not bad for a days work hehe. I might just have to write a story about my character.
